Unless they can somehow overhaul the entire game they might as well not bother.

Forza and Driveclub (to a lesser extent) make GT look woeful.

As a massive GT fan, right from the very first game on PS1 it pains me to say it, but I agree with you.

I have mixed feelings about PCars...great on PS4, not so on Xbox (had it on both)

Pcars is amazing.

But GT always draws me in, if they can nail a single player like my rose tinted glasses recall gt3 I'll love it.

They need solid multiplayer too, but also, for some reason, I recall the project Gotham series on Xbox original as having brilliant multiplayer for me

Multiplayer on the Project Gotham series was incredible, I had some amazing sessions on those games.

I'm still looking forward to this. As graphically and maybe technically excellent Project Cars is, after a couple of hours the novelty wore off for me, and just felt like a bland sandbox with nothing particularly interesting to do. GT games for me have been about buying the cars I like, working up to the more expensive cars, and then longevity due to trying to gold every license and event.

I was too. Great driving in the right car but the campaign left me cold.

It was all just a bit...dull.
