Don't you just love that first Sunday morning cup of tea?

Got a cup of Yorkshire Gold on the go right now. 2 bags in the cup to brew. 2 sugars. And a dash of milk. Happy Sunday all.

Edit. Brewing the tea bags in cold milk first then adding hot water isn't the right way to make tea. It's water first, brew, then add milk.

Why on earth would you want to cool down the water brewing the tea by putting milk in first?

Partly trolling at people who get all super serious about tea of all things, partly true as sometimes its easier for me, tea bags are rarely in the cup long enough for it to make a difference to me anyways.

I came down to have my usual morning cup of coffee. Opened my iPad to have a quick browse while the machine warmed up. I come across this thread have a strong desire for a good cup of tea. *coffee machine off* *kettle on*. The influential power of the interwebs and Participant :p

Same with crushing the teabag - supposedly releases more of something or other beginning with T which makes the flavour harder. Likewise the combination of putting milk in first in respect to brewing and milk being an emulsion and all that seems to make the flavour a tiny bit "brackish" when done that way - end of the day though it comes down to preference - I like a mellow flavour so don't put milk in first or crush the teabag.

Every cup of tea I make is amazing. I preheat the cups and spoon with boiling water, then one Yorkshire Tea bag per cup. Agitate well before standing for six mins. Squeeze bag against the side of cup and add plenty of milk.

All good, but I thought squeezing the bag was a big no-no? Somehting about leaving you with too much tannin, or something.

Milk in first with tea bag, then water is best.

Barbaric :p

I started drinking decaf tea a few years ago as my colleagues at work started drinking it, it wasn't because I was cutting down on caffeine. However, I started to prefer the taste. Initially it was Tetley, then Aldi's.

But last week I bought some Twining's Breakfast tea that was half-price and I'm really enjoying it. In fact, this thread has prompted me to put the kettle on! :)

There is nothing like the first cup on a Sunday . Started drinking decaf as i find normal tea surpreesses my appetite which makes me miss breakfast in the morning . Big fan of coffee (although maximum of 2 cups a day)

I don't drink tea or coffee - so, no.

I have never tried Rington's tea, but I like their biscuits. Hotel I stay it in Newcastle always has them in the room.

You my son know your stuff. Exactly my method.

Hardest thing in my experience was when abroad and getting served with Liptons tea . Needed 5 bags in a single cup to get any flavour.
