Evening all,

Friend of mine has had his M3 for a while now and asked me to film some clips.

He has published the video and I thought it turned out quite well, although I may be slightly biased...

Don't take this the wrong way, I definitely don't mean to offend but...I just don't see the point. Haha.

Have I literally just watched an M3 drive into an empty carpark.

Please don't take offence, but this little clip of some random driving an M5 is better.

I dunno if it's because I had the sound off (I'm in bed and don't wanna wake gf), but that video is strangely funny when silent. It's like some kinda of really bad foreign advert.

Not quite sure what was going on. A car driving into a car park.. A car driving on a wet car park..

Lol I like how obscure it was.

Well done.

I think...

Any car video with music added to the background of the video should be a ban worthy offence.

Likewise, a (naturally aspirated) M3 video where redline isn't achieved at least once should be a ban worthy offence. I'm disregarding the newer turbo models because they mostly sound like cack :p

Just some constructive criticism,

1. You need more audio sources, especially a mic somewhere on the vehicle to capture the engine/exhaust a bit better, from the roadside there is more tyre noise than is ideal
2. I'd grade the video to give it more of a film like look
3. Work on your cuts, they are quite jarring at times which makes it look cheap.
4. Definitely need more 'performance' shown from a performance car.

It does come across as from the point of view of someone who's never seen something in the class of an M3 before, which on forums like this is probably not your intended audience.

Other then that, just keep improving, its nice to see people investing time trying to showcase cars!

5. Get rid of the watermark in the centre of the video and if you definitely want a logo in the corner then make it smaller, it's too distracting.
6. Get yourself a harness/something to steady the camera - it's too shaky at times, as if you've got withdrawal symptoms from certain substances; it'll make things much smoother and produce a better view for the audience.

You didn't convey the speed and power. Static pan shots are too timid.

The styling was good though.

+1 that's a key element missing. Aside from the engine note there's no drama or any real sense of speed. Get some tips of YouTube of camera positioning / angles for automotive video.

Also unsure of what story you're trying to tell with the video eg the filling the kettle and making a coffee etc as you made a coffee at home and then drove to get another coffee.

Good effort nonetheless.

If he's trying to setup a youtube channel he should probably try and find his own way of doing things rather than imitating existing creators. I'd start by finding a different name, it's too close to Mr JWW to be taken seriously.

45 secs of coffee making... just why. And it's a video of an M3 driving around slowly, I honestly think a couple of photos would have been better.
