Mates BMW M3 stolen

Best to set an alarm at night.

In seriousness though, they would probably have a pistol. And a fully awake and alert person with a pistol is more dangerous than someone who is half asleep with an AR15!

I'll say it again. back to Invoice GAP insurance takes the sting out of it. Especially if youve had the car a couple of years.

As has been said a few times in this thread. Let them take it. Unless its still got your kids/wife in it then it can be replaced.

This is where technology such as Vauxhall OnStar can help. It's fitted to almost every new Vauxhall now. It allows (a) you to see where the car is - anywhere in the world - via an app (and the police can do the same), and (b) allows OnStar (with permission from the police) to disable the car from being restarted once it's switched off. It's not legal in the UK to actually switch the engine off while the car is driving though.

Can you disable these features from within the car? If not, that's pretty cool. I dare say a half-decent cellular jammer would sort it out though.

No it's not. Later cars have a selectable option in idrive that enables tracking and has no distance limit. It's the same app.
Ah, i found it in my iDrive menu after enabling it via coding. Seems a bit pointless though because if i was the thief, I'd just disable it in iDrive.

I wonder if now I've enabled it, i can hide the menu option. Certainly seemed dooable from the list of options in NBT
