Keys on my bedside table... AR15 propped up next to that.. come get them.

Such a silly weapon to use for self defence anyway.
Its America so the intruders probably already have a gattling gun "just in case".
In seriousness though, they would probably have a pistol. And a fully awake and alert person with a pistol is more dangerous than someone who is half asleep with an AR15!
BMW remote removed that limitation at some point, mine allows me to view the location no matter how far away i am. I think it's MY15 onwards.
I'm not sure how that works, it's a limitation of the App, not the module on the car.
This is where technology such as Vauxhall OnStar can help. It's fitted to almost every new Vauxhall now. It allows (a) you to see where the car is - anywhere in the world - via an app (and the police can do the same), and (b) allows OnStar (with permission from the police) to disable the car from being restarted once it's switched off. It's not legal in the UK to actually switch the engine off while the car is driving though.
Ah, i found it in my iDrive menu after enabling it via coding. Seems a bit pointless though because if i was the thief, I'd just disable it in iDrive. No it's not. Later cars have a selectable option in idrive that enables tracking and has no distance limit. It's the same app.
I reckon my dog would just try licking a thief to death..More likely the dog will just bring the thief its toys and get the iron bar in return.

Jan14Interesting that it's codable. What production month is your car?
