*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Yeah it was a right laugh. I ended up mashing the super buttons when JP called (shouted) it out and then heard the "Crota Death" sound.

My headset then promptly died 30 seconds later. Thank god that didn't go earlier as well!

From a challenge point of view we need to ensure the 3rd / 4th Sword bearers are comfortable with it. I would say it isn't hard to do but it is very easy to make mistakes due to various factors (killing yourself being one of them....).

I got over excited :D

Watched a bit of datto and they were doing it in 2 swords. with a weapons bubble on the rock, So we could give that another go?

Yeah if we had a weapons bubble it would make two swords completely viable. I was able to get him to half health with two kneels but that required (from memory) R1 + 3 R2's followed by a R1,2 x R2 and a Super.

The timing is very tight as getting to him the moment he kneels caused the majority of my deaths.

I think when we finally killed him last night me and you were being extra careful so next time we go to town on him :)

Edit: Also they seem to get him faster from the left rock.

Good run last night. OweO killing Crota after his TV went off brings a whole new meaning to blind raid!

I'm away this weekend, but back on Monday if people want to have another go before reset. I know there was some chat of having another run on Saturday, but if there's desire for a third run, count me in.

Happy birthday Rooster (did I miss when you said it was your birthday, if so sorry about that). :)

That was good fun if a little frustrating at times thanks to Crota glitching out.

My TV going into standby the moment I needed to get the last hit was "interesting" in a "oh FFS" kind of way. :D

Getting old now hehe (38) so thought it best not to mention it.

It was a good night though, got the strat down now its just a matter of refining it and those of us who aren't as good with the sword, well, getting good.

Look forward to Saturday. Nephew wants to run tonight but we only have 3 (my nephew and his friend who ran WOTM with us). If we run it I'll send some invites just in case any of you feel like it.

Sorry I got side tracked by ME:Andromeda last night.

I wouldn't mind mixing up the strat tonight to make it easier for those who haven't run sword before.

Basically Swords 1 & 3 will be like normal but sword 2 will be done from either left or right side (wherever Crota is). If we time it right the 2nd sword bearer can play it safe with 4-5 hits being all that is required (either 2+2 or (2+3). This strategy will require a bubble Titan which I can provide if required. :)

I need seven more silver dust to get weapon from xur....

What's the best way, I'm running out of time too. Gone out now, will have a couple hours later on.

This game is confusing as hell with all the expansions as to what missions are early story missions and what aren't.

Nearly did the first dark below mission at level 9 yesterday.

I take it at this level any weapons and gear I get I just dismantle all the old stuff as it's useless as I level up.

Yep, use it to get higher drops then dismantle afterwards.

Do that with all greens and most blues until they reach a level where they can drop at higher light than purples, then infuse them into purples with better perk sets.

How do you infuse stuff?

Is that something the game tells you to do at a certain point?

The game doesn't inform you from what I remember.

Normally any legendary (purple drop) can be infused with a similar type of item (primary/special/heavy/helmet/gauntlets/chest/boots/class/artefact) with a higher light.

For example, I have a blue (rare) artifact that is 400 light then I get a drop from an activity that is a purple (legendary) with better stats and perks but it is 385 light.

I examine the purple and on the left of the skill tree is a yellow node named infuse, I select this and then select my 400 blue drop to dismantle for infusion.

My purple now takes the light from my blue and becomes 400 light :)
