I personally don't tend to partake in these discussions, but surely you cannot expect the members of this forum not to talk about these things? It is inevitable that the discussion in threads with this sort of topic will take the avenue you are trying to discourage, simply because the ideals of the people who carry out these attacks are almost always proven to stem from an extremist variation of Islamic teachings.

Not always I grant you, but this crack down is starting to feel more like internet censorship than an attempt to discourage prejudice.
 
Simply no rationale or comprehension to these types of events which in turn then surmises that there can also be no solution to them either. Utterly senseless. RIP to all affected.

Agreed but I think their point is the Islam bashing was done quite recently in the Westminster attack thread.
 
It's done in every thread almost... it is not like there is anything new to be said about it. If we wanted to discuss specifics on the situation which is new, we can at least wait for those specifics to be released.

The issue is, in almost every thread where it's done, it turns out to be correct! Not all though.

Well it's not senseless, is it? Terrorism is political violence, so it usually has a pretty clear motive and that will probably become clearer over the next 48 hours. In this case, I imagine it was probably a reprisal for Russian actions in Syria. So as horrific as it seems, let's not pretend it was an act of madness on the part of the attackers. They act in a rational and entirely predictable way.
 
Most i would say but not almost every thread. There have been a handful of right wing nut cases and the odd school shooting where speculation went wild before more information was let loose.

Correct or not, its not like anything new comes of the speculation until we have at least some specifics. I am not against mentioning or discussing specifics but the same old 'religion of peace' replies are getting old. It isn't like anyone here denies extremists are capable of it anyway. There is just little to gain in having the same generic speculation thread accusing one group or another that almost always ends in a temporary lock and cleanup.

I would quite like this thread to stay open and on topic while info is being released.

An attack in Russia has nothing to do with Trump! Have some respect and leave your agenda out of it.
