GTX 1080ti "II" to be announced?

What utetr rubbish. If Nvidia had a fully working dies at acceptable yields they would have released it as such.

So why didn't they do that with the 1080 ti? And please don't try to say because they didn't want to outgun the current Titan because that isn't why, they obviously had this waiting in the wings and they did exactly that with the 780ti which was then followed by the Titan Black months later.

Nvidia were on the cutting edge of the very new 16FF+ process with such a big die, so much so that the rabid AMD fanboys were going on about how Nvidia would be 6 months behind AMD in releasing Pascal.
Where do people get these wild conspiracy ideas form?

I'm not sure what this has to do with anything, There's people making stupid claims every day of the week on both sides of the arena, so this doesn't somehow validate what you're saying.

My god man you are just so blinded by your AMD hate for some reason its hillarious. What happened? Bought a fury and thought it would overclock? I only have one thing to say to you.. Quadro P6000 that is basicly what this new Titan X little p is. Both based on the same full fat gp 102.

Here is anandtech listing the specs for the new X little p
http://www.anandtech.com/show/11253/nvidia-announces-nvidia-titan-xp-full-gp102-for-1200

Here is the P6000 die size mentioned

If you look at those links you can see its the exact same ******* chip meaning that nvidia had it available at the same time they launched the neutered Titan X unoffical P. But they wanted to use their defective chips first but instead of offering those as the 1080 ti they most likely saw an opportunity to make more money milking the people. Its smart business as long as you can get people to buy and they can but it does not change the fact that they had full fat working GP102 dies to sell..

It's just the way the modern mind works nowadays, we all want the best no matter how much we tell ourselves we don't. The only barrier is currency.
Yeah but unlike the good old days everyone wants in now and feel entitled to it all - hence personal debt is sky high and those with savings suffer in this low interest rate debt ridden world. Saving for something you want to buy seems to be a thing of the past

Note that this is not a dig at any forum members -- just an overall observation of the way people think these days.

Good to know. And to be honest the sort of response I'd of expected from someone with the 'my way or the highway attitude' that hasn't got an answer for the points made, It highlights why I was right to not bother replying to your response in the Zen thread yesterday where you basically ignored the points I made in my first response.

Last few years, I've been heavy in the Nvidia Ecosystem, only because Nvidia is where the performance is right now. i used to run 7990(s)

I have a 1080Ti,1080,1060, Triple Gsync monitors, Nvidia Shield Tablet, Nvidia Sheild TV

Anyhow i still don't know why D.P takes his username to a whole level regarding Nvidia. Jesus. He is so far Gone i think his part of the Mass Effect Andromeda Universe.

Serious D.P at least listen to their people views..

Yes nvidia should release new GPU's but at least show the users the entire lineup together. their no reason to release their Titan Xp 1 month after 1080Ti

they should have said
we got Two new GPU's to announce today:
Titan Xp - £1200
1080Ti - £700

I've always been happy to buy either brand but after spending time here and watching AMD's market share dwindle over the last few years I made the decision to do my part in helping AMD survive the drought, I'm under no delusion that me not going green mattered but with enough of us it would so I did just in case, I ignored the Maxwell's and moved to a Fury even though I could have got the faster 980ti, When AMD announced there would be no high end in the 400 series I stuck with my decision and waited, Having sat here for the last year and watched the way Nvidia has played the consumers who were buying at the high end, well, it's put me off Nvidia. I'm not saying i won't buy there gpu's ever as that'd be a promise I'm unlikely to keep but for now I want to do my small part in making damn sure we never end up with only them playing the field.

True, if AMD release a decent card another (7970) type card id consider the switch even with all my Nvidia stuff. i chase the performance thats it. no aliances here

Vega can't be 600mm given the photo leaks with the HBM sizes
ofc the one they showed is 470mm, my theory was " what if they had another chip pushed to 600mm" like Vega 10 and vega 20 :D, i do not believe this is the case, mainly because AMD probably dont have enough money to push for 2 big chips at the same time, or even delayed a bit, they need couple quarters revenue first.

If there are any Titan XP owners out there, I would like to know what you thought when the 1080ti, and then when the Titan Xp was released straight after?
My gripe is that this now makes the Titan XP pretty worthless in its reletively short life. Selling it would lose you a lot of money, especially with the 1080ti's pricepoint, and anyone now specifically going for a Titan will go for the Xp version.
The Titan XP should NOT have been released in my opinion. Nvidia knew that the Xp was just around the corner. I am guessing, the only people who aren't bothered are the ones who are swimming in money and want the latest and greatest.

the TXp was just around the corner? Wasn't the TItan XP released in August last year, that 's 8 months+ ago? People want the performance now so had the performance in August last year. Remember the new one is only about 10% better.
As an original TXP owner I do not care about the TXp or the 1080Ti - the TXP is still a helluva capable card. If it was struggling in new games and the TXp was needed then sure, would feel a bit "done over" purchasing the original TXP but that's far from the case.
Ti owners should not feel miffed either - they've still got a good value card. The good pricing was maybe a sign of something better to come from the Titan camp as it was much better value than the 980 Ti to Titan X (Maxwell) was especially given the how close it is to the original Titan XP, where as the 980 Ti was about 10% slower than the Titan X Maxwell.
Personally I think the releasing of faster cards is good as it hopefully means when TXP owners do upgrade again we'll see a bigger jump and/or better pricing. THe Titan of the next gen will probably be a bigger jump in performance than the TX Maxwell to TXP was because it will need to be a good jump up in performance from the new TXp or it'll have to be priced not as high as NV will probably like, but who knows?

Not true.

Pascal Titan and 1080 Ti owner here.

GPUs are for gaming not for worrying about what will turn up in 6 months time.

My old GPUs are just as fast as they were yesterday.

I beg to differ, games may be your priority but they are something that my fastest GPU's only do on their off days. :)

To contribute to the OP's questions, Nvidia will not be releasing any more high end cards soon they have no really option but to wait for the competition to reveal their hand and respond in a timely manner if required.

Well some actually do buy Titans due to the value they hold on the 2nd market and if that value is being lowered due to a nvidia decision then there will be some uproar. Just saying not justifying.

The one thing you can always count on is NVidia will launch a Titan variant about once a year so us Titan owners know there will be a newer one along soon.:)

Yes but it is not once a year, they are throwing them out of the door every few months now :)
I think similar to the original Titan and 780 Ti, this is more likely to happen every x years. Last time was the original Titan which then became the Black soon after or the same time the 780 Ti came out. THis didn't happen with Maxwell TX/980TI and 'suspect' it won't next gen either. THink it's happened this time due to huge die change and new arch combined.....and maybe touch of lack of competition thrown in :).
I think NV couldn't have released the TXp in Aug last year due to chip availability/yields or it would have been stupidly expensive, not as cheap as the TXP was :D

Does it matter if a new card comes out? I dont get the issue. Why do people HAVE to have the top one?

Maybe they need the internet 'feels'.

Roll of Honor is serious business bro.

See it this way. While some idiots are off chasing imaginary internet glory like headless chickens, we can get their perfectly good 2nd hand cards for cheap!

A 1080 Ti V2 is a definite, It will have all 3840 CUDA cores and 11GB of memory while the next Titan XpX will still have 3840 CUDA cores but 12GB+ of HBM2.
