i5 6600k or i7 7600k for Gaming?

Your right coffee lake is around the corner!
Along with another motherboard and 15% increase of kaby-lake. I'll believe 15% when I see it, they always promise these kind of figures but real world usage is nowhere near.
That figure probably comes from the multicore benchmarks. Are they going to be hitting 4.5-5 ghz on a 6 core? Doubtful.

IIRC,an overclocked Core i5 7600K and a Core i7 7700K at the same clockspeed have the same framerates in a game, and an overclocked Core i3 can match a Core i7 4790K.

"A game"? There are definitely games where an i7 will outperform even a Skylake or Kaby Lake i5, although it obviously depends on your GPU, screen resolution, etc.

Stupid autocorrect - it should have read in "the" game - OP is talking about ARMA,which is very poorly threaded.
