Ah, phew ok.165hz
Ah, phew ok.
Well if you're trying to take use of 100fps+ type performance for modern games, you're gonna want the best - which is a 1080Ti.
High end monitors are gonna take high end processors to power.
Well that's made a hard decision even more difficult![]()
If it's 2560*1440 @ 60fps then 1080
If it's 2560*1440 @ 120+fps then 1080ti
Ok, we'll put an end to this now - Get what you can afford![]()

Which 1080Ti you get isn't super important if you're just worried about performance. Aftermarket cards are going to run faster out-the-box, and cooler and quieter, but differences between those and the FE 1080Ti are going to be minimal in terms of performance if you manually overclock the FE a bit. It's longevity I'm concerned about. Looking at the bargain basement 1080TI available from OCUK; OcUK GeForce GTX 1080Ti "Founders Edition" 11264MB GDDR5X PCI-Express Graphics Card £649.99 - think that's too bottom of the barrel? It's only £100 more than aftermarket 1080's, but not sure if I should be looking at the EVGA (etc.) cards for around £750 if going TI?
i7-4770KWhat CPU do you have?? That can have as much of an impact in certain games as a better graphics card!!

I would try and overclock it a bit if you haven't especially with a high end card like a GTX1080TI.
They are, it's a founder edition; which has been advised to avoid. But a GIGABYTE GeForce AORUS GTX 1080 Ti 11G is available for £700.Aren't overclockers selling a Ti for £650 id get that personally or spend no more than £400 on a 1080
There's nothing wrong with the FE if you don't overclock manually set the fan to 70% which is bearable and it'll keep temps within reason. I've got a FE does 2050mhz 12ghz on the memory set the fan to never go above 70 and keeps temps at 80 or below which is fine for this cardThey are, it's a founder edition; which has been advised to avoid.
Certain places with very cheap prices should not be considered if you hope to have any decent support if things go wrong. I'd rather spend the extra £60 or so and have some peace of mind if I get a whiner or something. They are, it's a founder edition; which has been advised to avoid.
