They won't let you pay by instalments if you have already fail to do so. This is for last years tax, so OP has already ignored at least 3 reminders, 3 extra chances to pay in instalments and 3 letters with the number to call where he can explain his situation and get a little leeway.
You'd have to prove that nothing in the property belongs to you, and if you don't then they can still take everything regardless.

Just think about 1 road with about 150 door numbers, are you telling me it costs over half a million pounds a year to collect rubbish for 150 houses twice a week. Cant believe these milkers are milking everyone's hard earned cash and people STILL think the councils are "missing out" hahahahahaha

Yeah all the roads are restricted between 8AM and 6PM, So when all the RESIDENTS are NOT resident and are at work all day long my road is completely utterly empty, so when I get home from work and am actually resident, it's free parking for all and it's all full up with non-residents. Great logic for a residential parking zone
The whole council system is a fake money-making exercise necessitated due to braindead-idiots who cant take care of themselves. I assure you they're not "missing out" on anything lmao

I paid once even though I didn't need to, just to avoid this. When it was time for them to refund me the money they mysteriously had no record of it. I then had to do all the running around to prove I'd over paid them.

For everyone who's jumped on the band wagon.... I've never once in 18 years missed a bill payment in my life from the age of 16. Worked 37+ hours from that age including education.

Perhaps including a few more of the elements of the information you've drip fed since your original post might have changed the reaction somewhat but there is still the point that you've surely had to ignore several reminders, offers to repay etc. before it reached court?
Go back and read your opening post in isolation, moaning about horrible women, 40% fees etc. etc. and you just sound like a typical tax dodging 'nothing is ever my fault' waster

Doesn't c.tax also go towards the local police force as well? Plus road works, street lighting, gardens / parks etc? I know the pen pushers get the lion's share though!

Yes , had a house fire 10 years ago , the house needed to be virtually rebuilt , didnt need to pay council tax for this as it was uninhabitable with no furniture.
When this was getting done we lived in a flat for 7 months , guess who forget to pay the council tax for the flat and a year later had a summons to court .
All the final demands where going to the flat apart from the court summons that got delivered to the house.
We just paid in full before the hearing as you will get stung with court fees as well .
And i did phone the council with the sob story but they still wanted me in court.

I made no mention of wether it's fair or a milking of the people. I merely stated that technically they could (probably) be charging a lot more, given the data for their assessment criteria is so out of date. This is a simple concept but I am not surprised you are struggling.
Other people have shown you have no clue what it even pays for anyway.
Not that I wish to defend councils (which you seem to think I am), as I know from a friend who works for my local council just how wasteful they are with money.

Again, mowing a park lawn is about £10-20 and they don't even do it every single year.
