Bought this of Gumtree 2 Weeks ago £260 Did I get a Steal?!

That is an epic spec for that kind of cash, i'd be checking for any security markings as mentioned above and then enjoying it! New graphics card will really get that PC gaming nicely!

doesnt matter why the lad sold it for that price, not like its the first ever, maybe the lad didnt want sli or just didnt get that far, end of the day he done good, regardless of my computer having had to be new(present) i wish i saw systems like this 2 years ago at this price lol.

i purchased an old 775 system before for £70, it had an e8400, gaming board, 4gb ddr2, 2x4850 in crossfire(wasnt set up properly), hx 1000i psu, 500gb drive i think in a big gaming case with huge fans, at the time and even still now, the psu alone was worth more than it all and it all worked fine till i sold it, kid was in high school or early collage years, but he knew a bit about building them, that was before i got the pc i have now, so theres always bargains to be had without sketchy moments.

Did you get a steal? or was it just that ? ;)

Good bargain though.

When you booted it was Windows reset or did it still have the previous owner setup ?

Just a 'User' account I just formatted both drives and reinstall Windows on it.

You saved a bunch of cash, please spend some time and sort out those cables, they look like a gerbil lives in there.

Haha! Will do.

Good faith or not... That's more than likely someone elses actual stuff. Just ring the police station, just in case. Worst comes to worst, one phone call, wasted, misunderstanding, some kid blah blah blah. Otherwise you're catching some petty thief crim. Shut that down if it's that. I don't really believe in karma but imagine you've had a PC stolen, what might you do, and what might you hope to happen...

Agreed but if it is nicked he then loses his money and the kid probably just gets a slapped wrist.

you do get the occasional person that has no clue what somethings worth.
I saw a GTX970 advertised last year on gumtree for £55 due to upgrade.. it was sold by the time I saw the advert as I did call. :(

I have no reason to believe this was stolen. It was just a really low price that's all. I'm just putting it down to the person either needing the money fast or just wanted rid.

God bless lazy kids still living with their parents. They could probably feed the third world if we could recycle and sell their discarded fads...

Bargain, good spot there. Bang a new GPU in when ya get some cash and you'll have a nice gaming PC.

Do your civic duty and give your local police station a call, they'll know if someone has been burgled.

I purchased it in good faith :p.

and if he does that, what happens to his money, people keep forgetting about that... someone will always be out of pocket, and not the person who stole it, touch wood it is all legit, but if it wasnt most likely the person who stole it isnt the one saleing also. Anyway, let all be positive now, because if we was in that situation and saw that deal we wouldnt be saying nah i am not touching it because it could be stolen.
