My MPD order status says "Phone is waiting to be despatched" and expected date is 30th which is Sunday, obviously that wont be the delivery date and Monday is a bank holiday.

I also need to get my PAC code from O2, hoping I can do that on online chat and get my number ported over asap.

You are lucky at least you have an date. My S8 ordered when it came on Amazon preorders still has no date for shipping on it. Spoke to them and they do not know when it will be shipped...

Similar situation with chitterchatter for me, ordered on 8th of April and no info although they said they will update end of today. I've pulled the trigger and decided to order 2nd one just in case via CarphoneWarehouse as I've been told by them that it will be delivered tomorrow if I order now - will see and return the one that doesn't arrive

I'd say non existent, maybe Saturday but probably slim considering the interest and amount of pre orders, all stock might go to pre orders initially - book one up for store pick up and you might get lucky if you do it now.

Also the speaker offer on CPW is only for pre order.

Site is showing they have immediate stock.

Was on EE. If that made any difference.

Mine is now out for delivery with MPD and PAC Code sorted from O2 via their online chat so looking like I should be good to go tomorrow

I've always rooted my phones. No current plans to root the S8 but the always there alarm icon (when active) is driving me crazy.

You can get rid of unwanted icons with some adb commands:

Phoned samsung store and they reckon I'll be ok if i get there early but they won't reserve one over the phone.

May have to wait a week or so until the initial frenzy has died down. Wish i had preordered one now

Its taken me a few weeks to come to terms with the price.
