Far Cry Primal

Personally I loved both 4 and Primal. If I hadn't already played them £28 is decent.

The blue markers are just collectibles. Little stones with hand prints on them.

I'm a bit biased as I've loved every single Far Cry, even the weaker number 2. If you haven't got 4 then I'd definitely get the two in the bundle. The Far'Cry 4 season pass is not worth it from what I've read. But I'd get the Wenja Pack for Primal. It's only £2.49 and you get some bits and bobs that do enhance the experience.

Thanks all, gone with Primal only in the end.

Recall playing the demo of 4 when it came out and wasn't overly impressed. Felt like a poor mans Far Cry 3 at the time.

sorry to bump an old thread, but i bought primal recently for cheap and have pumped about 6 hours into it so far but i'm kind of at a loss as to how to play the game. There doesn't seem to be a structured narrative and i just keep popping up the map and choosing a new area to go to etc. It's actually getting a bit dull as i can't seem to get much sense of achievement or progression.

i've got this feeling that i'm missing something obvious, anyone got any hints?

There are main missions, they'll be on your map but also talk to the main characters in your camp who will give you things to do.

ah - so going back to my main camp/cave and talking to them will give me missions? I didn't realise that.

Also, i'm having trouble getting to the next beast mode unlock. Seemingly all i have to do is tame a rare black dole (got 4 other tames so far) but a - they're really hard to find and b - when i found one last night, i couldn't manage to tame it and it kept attacking!

It's been a long time since I played it but IIRC you can see the special animals with your senses as they leave a yellow trail. So go to a dhole area and check for the trail. If you find one, chuck some bait down and see if the rare dhole comes for it.

Already got Farcry4 so grabbed Primal ApexEdition for 16.49 from the store. Was reluctant as I really like the stealth and sniping of Farcry4 but should be a decent blast for cheap.

It's better than 4, IMO. The use of animals as a complement to the weapons makes it a lot more fun.

great, thanks - i shall give that a go this evening.

Got this near release. Played it for an hour or so and deleted. Waste of 55 squids!

Just felt meh. I loved Farcry 4 though.

Perhaps I will go back and give it another go. Got a few games on the to do list at the moment and this is one of them. Wanted FC4 to be in the sale so I can get a digital copy but not this time. Bah humbug. :p

yeah I wasn't prepared to pay anywhere near full price as its so far removed (Storyline/Time Period) from the FC3/4 and didn't think I would like it as I loved the sniper/stealth bits. For £16.49 it was worth a punt but the characters/setting/story are, so far, not a patch on 3/4 but its enjoyable. Sending a wolf or a leopard/tiger into a camp is fun as is dropping stuff from your owl.

Played again last night and went back to my main camp to talk to the two characters and sure enough, things are moving along nicely now and I've got loads to do! Thanks again for the tip - really helped. I've never completed a far cry game (in fact, it's been ages since I completed any game) so I'm determined to get to the end of this one!!

I must admit that I'm enjoying this game. It's still very Far Cryey but still a bit different. Base building and animal taming is fun. Got me a pet lion at the moment :D

HAHA, I have a pet Sabre Tooth Tiger! :D

My god that mission where you have to set fire to the village was tough, took me quite a few tries.

Oh and I can now ride beast.. Yeeee Hawwwww! :D

I think I used a black panther or leopard when I played it. One that stealth kills so you can clear out camps pretty easy.

I have just been informed by a friend that the badger is the best animal to use in the game

I had a feeling that was going to be the case. I tried to tame one last night but it turned and attacked before I could drop some bait. Think I am gonna have to use the hide scent potion next time.

Would I be correct in saying different animals have different traits?
