I really hated the Shangri-La bits in FC4. Is it worth avoiding this or does it play a lot differently?

It plays differently I would say.

Word of advice to everyone playing, disable the gathering animation in the game options. Makes gathering so much quicker, you can collect things as you run past.

Yeah, they're annoying, much like the drugged up sections in FC4.

No idea why they stick to this mechanic, it doesn't add anything to the game other than annoy the player imo.

Got a sabertooth last night, along with the beast riding skill it's pretty awesome.

I played Far Cry 4 with all HUD off and it was an amazing experience. I intend to do the same with this. It's on my TV shelf waiting for to me to play it. Want to finish TLoU first as I am quite close to the end.

It does look very orangey around sunrise/set, I'll have to have a fiddly with my TV settings.

Hard mode, HUD off, headphones. One of the most amazing open world environments ever. Love it.

My bro bought this on Xbox one on the weekend and as we game share I ended up with it's well. Wasn't expecting much, I've never played a far cry game but spent all day yesterday on this and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I have played the previous games and always found the villains / worlds interesting. This to me feels a little half arsed and whilst I understand what they tried to do to make things a little different I’m just finding it all a little dull…It feels like a skin rather than a whole new game world, maybe I expected too much.

I can’t quite put my finger on it but I’m playing it and find myself turning off after 30 minutes or so. There doesn’t seem like a whole lot to do and the “missions” aren’t particularly exciting.

Just my opinion of course..

The gathering system drags on quite a big and had to resort to guides because "south stone" in my brain obviously didn't register "go to the south and look"
