Garage floor paint?

I'd like to paint my garage floor, it's a large single garage (somewhere between a double and a single in size), I tend to keep the car in there most nights.

My concerns over painting the floor are that I don't want the paint peeling off with the tyres, the floor isn't particularly dusty but I'd remove any oil marks before painting and give it a good hoover.

Has anyone done this, any suggestions? The Leyland Trade stuff at Screwfix looks quite good?

If youre not bothered about the environment then look at an epoxy resin paint. I'd be googling for and looking at specialists in that industry rather than cheap stuff at the usual DIY stores. From experience you get what you pay for with stuff like this.

There was a thread a month or so back about this, general consensus seems to be standard floor paint is a bit naff and will lift off, epoxy stuff is good but expensive, rubber floor tiles seem a good option as well.

I used Ronseal stuff, it's fine at first but lifts off fairly easily. I think I'm going to have to accept that it'll need fairly regular repainting unless I invest in a much more expensive solution.

I've got some samples of dynotile in the garage, decent option if you decide against paint (but expensive though)

THeres loads of people selling them. "Eco tile", "Garage Pride" "Duramat" etc.. I'm sure iyou'll be able to fine some that are reasonably priced. They're just PVC floor tiles. Just buy more than you need so you've got spares if any crack.

I painted my concrete garage floor. Still looks ok but not amazing and not lifting up anywhere but I tend to look after my things so no scraping things along floor etc.
I painted it 2 or 3 times completely allowing a few days to dry in between and making sure it was safe to walk on.
I can't remember what paint but it wasn't expensive stuff - maybe Wilkos stuff rings a bell?

You can polish the concrete itself using a floor grinder to get a really shiny marble-like surface. It can look quite good and no painting etc needed.

As has been said... stuff like Ronseal Garage floor paint is rubbish. Left it 4 days to dry properly, put the car in the garage and the next time i used it the paint peeled off where the tyres had been sat.

In the end i got some floor carpet tiles, the sort used in offices, and covered the floor with these. They are pretty hard wearing and i can literally go round with a hoover to clean up when I've had cars in there I've been detailing and creating dust etc. Plus the floor isn't freezing and you can walk round barefoot!
