Le Vote, France start to elect a new president

Here's some broscience for you...

Masculine European men tend to vote right.
Feminine/non-masculine European men tend to vote left.

Masculine Immigrants tend to vote left (but display non-liberal behaviours).

The demographics of France are very different to USA/UK regarding the masculinity/feminity spectrum. Euro Frenchmen are very calm and diplomatic. They tend to be frail and not display much masculinity or dominance at all. In USA the values are roughly 50/50, and the UK tends to lean strongly towards being more masculine as do countries like Russia.

The average UKer is much more likely to chant "chop the hands of theives!" than a Euro Frenchman, or a German or a Swede. The French immigrant Arab or African is also likely to chant this but will almost always vote against right wing polititians - which is analogious to Muslims in the UK (who are right-wing/conservative by nature) voting for Labour (left-wing).

Given this broscience the result of this election is pretty obvious.

I don't get the "historic" president-elect mantra being rolled out by the media. Macron is a centrist. He may not be a member of the mainstream parties but he's as mainstream as they get!

It's bad news for the UK though. Would have been handy to have someone sympathetic to brexit in charge.

Well I wasn't wishing a detrimental outcome to 67 million people just to temper the negative effects of the idiotic decision 17.5 million people made in this country

Can they really be relied upon as I'm sure many of the le pen voters wouldn't admit to it? Seems odd when the polls got it so wrong with brexit and trump.
They didn't get it 'so wrong' with Brexit and Trump, they were far far closer in the polls than Le Pen has been.

The "I hope Europe fails, it won't put me in a better position at all but at least I can justify my politics!" argument is one of the most puzzling that has emerged recently.
