I like Labour's manifesto enough that, coupled with me living in a Tory/Labour swing seat, I might very well shift my vote from LD (despite being generally a LD voter and knowing our LD candidate personally).

I would prefer more of a remain stance on EU, but that ship has sailed, really, so will settle for a government which keeps close ties to Europe. Would also prefer more socially liberal outlook: drug laws, sex worker laws etc than will be offered by Labour, but can prioritise some of the other aspects that they do offer.

Again though, 1 MP shouldn't really be a reason to dismiss a party. Especially one whose manifesto/ideals appeal to you.

She's not leader of the party and though she is a big Corbyn supporter. She's shadow home secretary but when a cabinet is formed for a new government, all those jobs change around anyway

I don't think you can discount the impact the media have had on Labour over the past year. I can't remember another similar situation anywhere in which two people, Corbyn in particular, have come under such sustained attack by the press. They may not be great media performers, but neither was Clement Attlee.

I think the Corbyn leadership of Labour has exposed the worst elements of the British press, and it's been a bit of a race to the bottom since he became leader.

It's embarrassing that most people will vote in the way the press wants them to. The Labour manifesto makes a lot of sense to me, and I suspect a lot of people in the country would benefit from its implementation.
But, the Tory press want them to vote Tory, so there it is.

She isn't the only reason I dismiss Labour, Corbyn can be added to that list. I don't agree with much of what he stands for with respect to defence, for example.

I agree with some of the manifesto, certainly not all. Of the points that I do agree with it's not enough to make me vote for them.

If it were only that simple, loads of parties policies appeal to me, but I know they are complete pie in the sky. Labour have announced these things but I need to see the fine details and costings before I could possibly vote for it.

Don't be swayed by the "what" ask for the "how?"

I was on the fence, but the labour manifesto has lots of good things in it, so I think I will be voting them.

My Dad is now calling me a Marxist

They claim to have fully costed it in the full Manifesto, so we shall see in a few days.

People used to complain that the differences between Blair's/Millibands labour and the conservatives were negligible as they were both quite central.

Well the Tories have moved to the right to suck up UKIP votes and Labour has moved more to the left so people have a real choice now IMO.

The labour manifesto, as individual points are mostly fantastic. Can't disagree. As a whole manifesto its promising the world... Which should set off alarm bells.

The once you pull apart the figures it's embarrassing...

Scrap tuition fees? That's estimated at about £12bn by itself. Nationalise the rail? 10s of billions if Corbyn wants to do a proper job...

Raising minimum wage? Ultimately will hurt the poorest people/ unskilled workers in the long run.

Don't get me started on renewable energy. Biggest waste of money ever; https://www.spectator.co.uk/2017/05...or-green-and-they-provide-zero-global-energy/

Labour manifesto is largely simple soundbites Labour know they will never actually have to implement and pay for as they've no chance of getting enough of a majority to see them put into practice. It's sad to see so many people so easily manipulated by a "leak" designed to garner support for a lame duck party with no future in its current state.

There's a reason when anyone in the labour leadership is asked for specifics they suddenly get very vague - may as well promise a hospital on every street corner,£500 per week payments for anyone in full time higher education and 90% tax anyone earning over £60k a year. Never going to happen but doesn't stop people falling for it...

Which is exactly what the Conservatives did in the last election, expecting to have to go into Government as a coalition again and get talked down on a lot of points, and we all know how that turned out.

Where have you got that from? They've said anyone earning over £80,000 would pay more tax. That's the top 5% of earners. And it's not 90% tax!

And that's only more tax on the money they earn past the 80k mark, it's not like all their wages will suddenly be taxed silly amounts.

Well, there you have it...
