Masked gunmen open fire at Manila Resort World (Please refrain from antagonistic replies)

It wasnt Islamist related. Police have said it was a botched robbery. He wasn't firing at people, although many are dead from suffocation after he set casino tables on fire.
Just seen that - odd. 37 people dead because of a couple of losers :(

They claim everything just for the media coverage.
Actually they tend not to, appearing more "trustworthy" than the western media is a key element of their strategy (and not particularly hard tbh). The only time this may have happened is with the Russian Sharm-el-Sheik air disaster, it's still not exactly clear what caused that.

Latest reports say robbery gone wrong and that he was shooting in the air, not at people, no one found with a gunshot wound. Most of the deaths are from smoke inhalation after he set himself alight.

EDIT: Just saw someone else posted the same, my bad.

I saw statements released that he is suspected to be a foreigner due to how well he spoke English and that he looked 'possibly Caucasian'.

The Philippines has had its fair share of troubles over the years and more so in very recent times.

If he is as the description says, he could be one of the US soldiers stationed there who lost it. He could just as easily been a desperate gang member who thought his ticket was up as police/vigilantes were looking for him. He is in the wrong part of the country to be linked to the communist/Muslim insurgencies and was acting alone, so i think it is unlikely he has any link to either rebel groups.

ISIS have already claimed it, so I can't see how it would be antagonistic to discuss.

I always invision a man in a room, "ISIS PR how can I help you". Who the hell is calling the toll free number to find out if they did it and if they have a phone number why are they not targeting it.

From the cctv he definitely ain't Caucasian.

Just saw it. The English spoken part doesn't mean much, especially in Manilla where everyone speaks some English.

I find it weird that he is alone as the normal suspects over there criminal gangs and rebels normally rob in groups.
