Just in case you hadn't noticed, somebody has stolen your number plate.
Oh gnoes! Crime of the century!!

Just in case you hadn't noticed, somebody has stolen your number plate.

But you did see more higher spec models on the road with leather
No you didn't. Leather then was far less common wheras these days most of the PCP brigade want the sporty trim levels which almost always have standard leather.

Never gets old.
I'm a bit jealous to be honest. I've had a couple of cars which look ace with no plate, but theres no way I'd get away with it round here... I got fined for having an incorrect size front plate!![]()

But you did see more higher spec models on the road with leather etc because people could actually afford a good example rather than getting the cheapest POV spec because that is all they can afford on the monthly
The spec level on even a base model now far far exceeds anything available 20 years ago.Never gets old.

RS2 and F355What cool cars were released in 1994?

Well cars should be able to be identified by ANPR so I've got no issue with people being fined for silly/missing plates.

So you condone theft?![]()

No. Good strawman.
Cars still have rear number plates. It really isn't a big deal. Stop being so petty
You like the look of it, I get that, it doesn't make it less illegal though, hence the fines.
Thanks to that they were able to locate the body.I actually have a real problem with folks that think they are above the law and don't need to be identifiable by reg like everybody else.
Sure, your car looks nicer without a plate on it. My bank balance would look nicer too if I didn't have to pay taxes but just like reg plates, you have to.
My point is that someone could genuinely have stolen the plate and used it in crime!
How is it being petty? I didn't create the law...You like the look of it, I get that, it doesn't make it less illegal though, hence the fines.
I watched a CH4 documentary recently where ANPR was used to spot when and where a murderer was driving whilst hiding a dead body. Guess which plate it used? FrontThanks to that they were able to locate the body.

How are you going to identify those people breaking the law when they are not displaying a reg plate? Putting it behind the raked glass windscreen makes it considerably more difficult to read, that's why it's illegal.Exception that proves the rule.
Look I'm not suggesting people do away with front numberplates to "stick it to the man" - but frankly, I find it less of an issue than mobile phone usage, speeding in town centres/past schools, and poorly maintained cars and a whole plethora of other driving issues, like driving with no insurance and without a licence etc....
I used to have my front number plate inside the windscreen for well over 6 months and you could read it fine, I then go a stuck on one (still illegal) as the plinth was ugly.
