- Evidence via video link may suffice but the financial and logistical barriers to giving evidence that way from abroad are insurmountable

The sooner the UK is out of the remit of meddling European courts and takes a more balanced stance on the much abused cry of "human rights" the better.

Far FAR too soft, I see Japan are toughening up their laws in response to potential trouble from "foreigners".
Namely bringing in a raft of new offences pre their Olympic hosting, (and post seeing how many UK attacks were made by those our authorities were interested in but unable or unwilling to challenge fully). “Planning the execution of a serious crime for a terrorist or other organized crime group.” Needless to say some of a more liberal persuasion have their knickers in a twist over this, but it's been passed, so it seems futile their getting too excitable.
