I've had to make some life changes due to suffering from anxiety, and sadly coffee has been one of them. I was never addicted to coffee so stopping drinking it hasn't been an issue for me. However, I'm finding myself not as 'awake' as I used too.

I've tried peppermint and green tea but looking for energising alternatives.

What coffee replacements do you use for your morning energy boost?

I find giving myself time to sit down and have a proper breakfast does wonders for my energy or even a light bit of exercise if you can move gym time to the mornings.

'fresh' or 'cold' shower gel if your a real sadomasochist

Time, there is no replacement for coffee. You'll get used to it eventually.

Or what I mean is caffeine, anything else is also going to increase your heart rate resulting to the same health affects your trying to stop.

You could try good decaf as a psychological affect though.

Stop playing ESOL until the early hours?

Coffee and tea are no replacement for a good nights kip!

If you can cut out the coffee, a cold fruit smoothie should kick start you in the morning with all that sugar

It's more the stimulant than anything else. I'm looking for a more natural solution like ginger and banana smoothie (or equiv)

 Stalker

I can't play last 2330 lol - yeah, smoothie would be ideal really.

You mean food? Sure sugar in the morning is going to help. But you won't get the same affect as your used too. A healthy, balanced diet will help though.

Have you tried Rooibos, I survived on that (+ green, jasmine tea) in a prevous company which did not have decent coffee offering.

Just go to sleep at 9pm. Have a decent breakfast and by that I mean porridge or eggs and avocado.

Also the morning is the worst time to drink coffee as your body already has a natural system in place to get you feeling refreshed. If you get an afternoon slump then it's time to think about going for a walk. Drinking water.

Definitely this - I sometimes have a caffeine free period every now and then. After a week or so you will find that it will get a lot easier (your sleep will be more rewarding too).
