Summer Transfer Window 2017/18 - Rumours & Signings

Well our manager literally said they didn't matter! We just put out a team because we had to.

I don't know why you're trusting random websites. We don't even play a forward left! Maybe actually watching games might help you?

Mahrez and Lacazette for 65/70m announced by the end of the week. Sanchez to announce contract extension. Would be a pretty good week for Arsenal
If all of that was to happen then it just wouldn't be a good week but rather a brilliant week lol.

I'm not sure if all the above happened that we still could win a title in the next yr or 2.

That would be great. At least we could start the season with the fans hopefully all united and backing the team!

Marhrez and Lacazette for £65/70m is unlikely at best. Sanchez also seems pretty set on leaving. That sounds like an arsenal fan getting a little carried away.

Not sure where Mahrez would fit in and not sure he'll ever be the player of 2 season ago. If we get Lacazette and keep Sanchez i'd be well happy though. Really need a dedicated DM next.

Not sure on Mahrez myself either. If we do get him, it's probably to replace Sanchez if he is leaving.

Sanchez did say after the confed cup he would say where he will be playing next season. But nothing has come from him since so I'm hoping he makes up his mind soon. Wouldn't be a good thing if it drags on for the summer.

Dedicated DM?? I thought that was Granit  unless I'm mistaken.

Hearing rumours that Lacazette is at our training grounds having his medical.

Hopefully won't be too long before it's a done deal.

It's a lot of money we are paying out for a relative unknown in the premier league. Let's be honest he's coming from a league where the quality isn't that great. But for the money we are shelling out, I do hope he bangs in plenty of goals for us.

I just hope Wenger plays him and keeps faith with him, even when he goes through a dry spell.

Nothing different to this thread being littered with Utd fan's swooning over potential transfers

45m with add on's. It's a huge amount of money for Wenger, that last thing he'll do is forget about him :p
I hope he bangs the goals in for Wenger sake as well. Even if he came out of the 1st season with 1 in 2, he might still get flak from some people.

Granit is good, just needs to chill out on the aggressiveness of his play and he will be ok.

Definitely wanna keep the aggressiveness, is this not steel?

Is Lacazette really £52m good? I hope for Wengers sake he is, Because banging in a load of goals for Lyon doesn't directly mean he's going to be doing that in England.

I mean all the times I have watched the French international side he's no where near it, It is either Griezmann or Giroud

Just strikes me as someone who isn't really all that great. I could be wrong though & he could be banging them in like Thierry

Isn't that always the case though? Banging in goals for a club in another league doesn't mean he'll do it in England?

Players far better than him have flopped in England, and players far worse than him have excelled. I think he'll be a good signing, but he's not the marquee signing fans are crying out for

Yeah you are very true in what you say. I could be wrong.

But I really don't think he's the answer for Arsenal personally.

25% of Lacazettes goals have been penalties for Lyon, that's what would concern me if I was an Arsenal fan however personally I think he'll do alright. It's all well and good saying the French league is poorer etc but so are the players backing him up. Sanchez looks likely to be staying and I imagine Mahrez will come in...loads of support for him in those two.

Aubameyang? poach master general.. would probably be more than 45m and he might not have as many tools. I think Lacazette has played a lot different roles at Lyon all across the front 3, could be beneficial

Prices for players have gone insane in the last couple of years. The inflation has gone mad. It reminds me of a football version of the human population statement - Its taken 200,000 years for human population to reach 1 billion and only 200 years for it to go from 1 billion to 7 billion.

It sort of feels like that...like its taken ages to reach 1m for a player and a comparatively short time to reach 100m for a player. Not so long ago it felt like you were looking at 10m for a decent signing and now its 50m for a decent signing.

Granit is not a DM. He's awesome as a deep lying ball player but he needs a proper defensive minded player next to him.

Apparently Lacazette has the 3rd best chance conversion rate in Europe but didn't know about the penalty stat or if the conversion rate includes them.

Glad Giroud wants to stay. He's a different option and often gets important goals.
