My Palit 1070 SJ has the 0rpm feature for when the card is at idle and in the 5 months i've had it it would be in the low to mid 40's but for some reason its now at idling in the low 60s. I've never come across this before and I really dont know how to troubleshoot it.

Anyone had this problem before?

Is the image current, min and max? If so it seems your GPU is running in full 3D mode. I would remove the drive and reinstall.

If this keeps happening you need to find out what is using the GPU when not gaming. I remember mining virus used to be a thing not sure if they still around.

I did a clean install of the latest drivers and the card is now down clocking properly but the idle temp had only dropped to 58c.

Try setting a 1:1 fan ratio using Afterburner or similar and see what temps you get.

That's what I do for my card (MSI 1070 Quicksilver) and mine is currently idling @ 32C to give you a comparison.

Reason I use a 1:1 ratio is so the card maintains higher clocks whilst gaming and the fans are so silent I can't hear them above my system fans at idle or when gaming.

For additional info I just tried it at default (zero fan tech) and it's idling (139Mhz) at 35C in an upstairs room and it's hot today.

Yours is definitely running too hot at 58c idle.

There's been an ongoing 3D clock bug for months, either uninstall and do a clean install or roll back to a previous driver that doesn't cause constant 3D clocks.

With my case side panel off idle temp is down to 52C. Even with the weather it seems like something isn't right. I'll run Heaven and see what its like under load, last time i did it a couple of months ago temps never went higher than 70c with my aggressive fan profile.

I recently got myself the 1080 version of the Jetstream. Currently idling at around 38C.

I hate to think what my old 7950 / R9 280 crossfire setup would be reading in this heat!

The weather has a disproportionate effect on the 0db fan profiles as the heat just doesn't go anywhere if your case airflow isn't the best.

I saw similar as resolved it with slightly more aggressive intake and exhaust profiles for my case.
