2017 Holiday Thread

Did Vegas for two weeks over May/June.

Heading back to the States in September for two weeks visiting San Fran/LA/San Diego.

Then off to Madrid for a weekend in December time.

Went to Coco's Antigua for a week in late January
Tried to go to a villa in Portugal for a week in May but BA put pay to that!
5 days in Madrid late August
8 Days in Antigua St James Club in late November to round off the year!

We really have the holiday blues at the moment.

We landed back in India about a week ago after

-5 weeks in Orlando
-1 week in New York
-1 week back home in London

Orlando was immense.

We will be planning to do a similar itinerary in 2019 once Star Wars Land opens.

Unfortunately my work closes for a week the first week of August (like this every year).
I'm trying to find a nice beach/pool holiday, all inclusive somewhere hot to just chill out for a week. Going solo means everything comes up over £1k which seems painful to pay when I could probably get the same holiday much cheaper a few months later/earlier.
Eurgh.

In-laws in a few weeks which includes 6 days in Loa, Utah for some fly fishing. I absolutely cannot wait! Desperately need a break from work. I have another week to book somewhere a little closer to home for end of September as well. Not too sure where to go, considering Crete.

We did Orlando in May/June - it was amazing and also planning trip back there in 2020 :)
Probably a bit earlier in the year (Easter time) as it was hot and very busy in the parks.

We were there from the 1st of May to the 6th of June. Was hot as hell, but it seems we left at the right time. The week we left to NYC all hell broke loose with the weather.

The weather was unpleasantly hot on a number of days in the low to mid 30s, and I tanned like crazy.

Fortunately for us living out in India, our kids finish school mid April, so we can go right over then pre-peak.

We did a week over in the UK before we flew to Orlando at the end of April, I kinda of wished we had just avoided that and flown straight over and had an extra week over there.

Pandora at the Animal Kingdom was horribly busy but we managed to do what we wanted, we just missed Volcano Bay though out of all of the main parks.

Me and the wife went on our honeymoon to New Zealand for 4 weeks in February.
We then flew out to Samoa for 5 nights at the start of March.

I was incredible, the best place I've ever seen.

Going back to work a day after getting home was shocking.

This was a pic I took from near our hotel room in Apia Samoa.

We were there 20th May - 4th June.
We saw the queue times for Pandora (4+ hours) and decided to do it next time we go - same for Volcano Bay, it was just too busy; looking on web reports VB is at capacity at 9am  It's also not finished with rides and areas still in construction.

My 5 year loved the parade and fireworks at MK.

Got to love the lightning storms, they were just getting regular in the evenings when we left.

Starwars opening in 2019 is going to push up the crowds to insane levels.

The new firework show 'Happily Ever After' was immense and gave me goosebumps. We were lucky enough to be there opening night.

The flight of the avatar ride took us three hours approx to queue and we got on the Navi boat ride via fast pass. We were lucky!

Memory maker was worth out time. My missus had just under 1000 photos on it.

The holiday was expensive for sure but the look on my 4 year old daughter's face when she interacted at the character greets was worth the price alone. We also had her birthday there at Chef Mickey which was wallet busting but good fun.

Looking for a september holiday to tick swimming with turtles off the list any ideas on a place to go and hotel or resort to stay at?

Secondly plan to hit Dubrovnik before the year out anyone been before recommend a place to stay?

I get married on the 15th, jetting off to Pefkohori in Greece on the 17th for 6 nights. Need a bloody holiday after all the wedding prep.

Also hoping to book another trip to Paris in September, very significant city for the missus and I and it'll be great to get back there, one of my favourite places on the planet. Our annual passes for Disney run out in October as well so aiming to get a few more days use out of them, might even stay at one of the hotels as they're not too badly priced with the discount.

I owe you a profuse and grovelling apology.
I read your second line quickly, as I am wont to do, and thought that it said that you were looking for a Blackpool holiday.
"Somewhere hot" prompted me to read it all again.
My initial thought was, "Blackpool? He's got to be kidding surely."
My commiserations to those of you to whom Blackpool appeals of course, but it's an ill wind that blows nobody any good, it means that the line at immigration control in Tampa FL. will be that much shorter if you're all happy to go to Blackpool.

We a flying out next Wednesday to Playa Blanca, Lanzarote for the fortnight which is costing us £1400 for a villa near the beach. This means we are taking the kids out of school 3 days early. If we were to fly out on the Saturday - 3 days later and the start of the school holidays - the holiday would have been £1700 more expensive. We've put the consent forms into the school and they have not authorised it, but i don't care.

Did a week at Le Mans and Versailles in mid June. Did a week in Amsterdam last week.

That's my lot until September/October - 2 weeks somewhere I think.

:D :D I'm sure Blackpool has its place.. although not for me this year.

I was to Portugal for a week in mid-may for my birthday, 3 nights in Lisbon and 3 in Porto. Had a very nice time strolling around enjoying the cities. in 1,5 week I'm flying home to Sweden for a 1,5 week holiday. Other upcoming plans I got for this year is a weeks holiday in September. Spending 3 nights in Skopje, Macedonia before heading first to Sofia in Bulgaria and then 2 nights in Plovdiv, Bulgaria to see Devin Townsend.
In October I'm planning to head home for a few days home to Sweden to see my new niece/nephew that should arrive in early October before I'm heading to for a weekend in Prague to see Anathema.

And in December I'm planning to head home for a week before Christmas to see my family as I won't be able to get annual leave over the Christmas/New Year period.

That looks fantastic! At the moment both of my kids are too young to appreciate a holiday like that. So every year for us its something or the other planned with activity driven holidays.

Pre - children me and the missus loved cruises, and after the success of Orlando this year we are considering a Disney Cruise next summer. So we shall see.
