I want a new toy and waiting for Vega was enough. My intended spend has gone from ~£200 upwards and upwards. You know how it is once you get going
My enjoyment of making hugely complex settlements in a heavily modded installation of Fallout 4 is severely reduced by the abysmal framerates that causes with my 7950. Not enough GPU power, not enough VRAM. Vega isn't going to cut it and a 1070 is either unobtainable or the price is silly.
So I'm considering this card:

£450 for a 1080 is as good as it gets at the moment, but it's still a hell of a lot for a graphics card. I don't want to spend £450 and get a card that's noisy or in some other way inferior. So I want more information up front. The "reference blower" mentioned, for example. Is it exactly the same as one used on another card? Same cooling performance, same noise?
Or is there a better offer with one of the forum voucher codes OcUK use to try to funnel some cards to gamers?
