Basically pump the body full of sedatives and all sorts so they are not aware of anything. Same thing when my dad passed away from cancer, when they knew it was his time they just loaded him up on all the drugs they had him on so he wasn't in any pain and passed away peacefully.

You can't. They drug up the patient so much, that to the uneducated observer it *seems* like the patient is Dying with Dignity™. If the correct medication dosages aren't given it can sound like the patient is drowning in thier own secretions, it would be pretty jarring hearing them gasp for breath.

How many people have you seen die with withdrawal of care or palliation? I've seen a few and none have drowned on secretions. What is your experience level to go making inflammatory claims like this?

I think that's pretty sensationalist. Having done this myself several times over the years, it is not my experience of it whatsoever.

Gasping however is normal as you die. It is a brainstem reflex and occurs even in the brain dead.

So, literally this is first time I have heard name of this child, but after reading the thread would be decent thing of the parents to donate all the money to the charity. Then could be forgiven for what's been done/said etc and put it down to desperation.

Hope its reported on

They are using the money that was donated to set up a foundation to help kids with serious illness.
 
His suffering is finally at an end despite the intentions of his parents, which is a small blessing I suppose. I imagine GOSH are ready for the impending legal action which must be imminent given the disregard for expert medical opinion the parents have shown.

What a sad state of affairs.

Yeah I can't imagine Charlie's death is the end of this saga. I actually feel sorry for the team at GOSH more than anyone.
