I imagine a good quality 650w is still fine. Its the overclocking that really would start to use up power, but just running the stock card even the liquid one is going to work.
Another factor with PSU is age, roughly the capacity declines by 10% a year apparently so maybe just use whichever PSU is the newest

Well the 650 is about a week old so should be fine if i decide to go for one, which I've really no need to :p

Is a 850watt PSU enough for a base Vega 64?

Yes 850W PSU will be enough for both RX Vega 64 reference and limited edition cards with a little OC but if you want to OC it to 1406MHz base and 1677MHz boost matched RX Vega 64 Liquid Edition then 850W will not be enough, you will need 1000W or higher PSU to OC it to 1700MHz boost.

Why oh why did they choose to delay reviews for another two weeks tho?

Most drawn out product launch I can remember.

I expect it's when they will be fully ready with finishing touches and most likely production. 2 weeks might not seem much to us but in production and final tweaks it may mean something. They are behind no doubt so what is 2 weeks to produce a better launch. It's already down the pan so why not if everything is ready to go in 2 weeks.

What? No. Just no.

Absolute tosh. AMD MAtt had 2 overclocked 290x's running on a 750w back in the day. Stop scare mongering we all know that company's like AMD and Nvidia advise way past what's needed. He was LtMatt back then i believe and a adrenaline junky judging by that but still pushed them a bit on a 2600k OC.

We seem to have to types of people in this thread.

One group is saying the launch is crap, late, hot, under performs, uses too much power and is too expensive.

The other are optimistic and are pointing to the likes of the new Wolfenstein and new Far Cry using Vega features.

Both are right in ways but some are over the top.
