Amber Rudd fails to understand the internet

If you don't print your name on a shirt and wear it all the time then it might be because you don't want people knowing who you are, which means you're probably a criminal. I propose a "large names on shirts all the time" law. If you have a long name then you need to carry a sign, like the Golf Sale guys.

whats worse is those people who hide their identities on the internet, these people plainly have something to hide, down with avatars!

What's more worrying is the "metadata" she won't discuss in public. Which leads me to believe her version of "metadata" extends to content as well.

I think she won't discuss metadata in public because has no idea what metadata is. She knows damn all about the rest of the subject, so why would she know anything about that? This is the person who thought that she could use hashtags to control everything on the internet. She just knows a few words with no understanding of what even those few words mean.

Her combination of authoritarianism and ignorance is genuinely dangerous.

I propose we ban all clothing

After all, you can quite easily hide weapons under your clothes. How else can we be confident people walking the streets aren't about to brandish a firearm?!?!

Can we have a weight limit please? My fear of getting shot is lower than my fear of everyone in the queue at Greggs being starkers.

She wont discuss it because it's a sensible suggestion which would be a good compromise in place of the encryption ban that she is pushing for. She doesn't want to draw attention to this option.

WhatsApp dont know the content of your messages but they do know who you are messaging, how often you message them, and the data size of the messages/files you send. Knowing who communicates with who, and combining that information with the government's 'watch list' would probably be almost as effective at combating terrorism as knowing exactly what was said in those conversations.

5 islamic inspired attacks this , so she goes after white Nationalist groups. They may be repugnant but it's not the answer ban the real ideology that is killing us.

The more I listen to get the more I think she is retarded.

I am not all that worried. There is little in the way of effective legislation that could actually be passed so nothing will really change. She gets to sound tough at conference but it wont actually go anywhere.
