Vega 56 out in SEPTEMBER well...... WELL guess they are waiting for Pound to Dolar exchange rate to hit bottom of the bottom :/

This is how my Waiting for Vega ended.

With Full cover water block Paid less than new 1080ti.

Hope Died Last... Last Sunday 3AM yes i was up at 3am when i had to be up 6am for work.... I had hopes.
Amd Fooled me once( Fury X) shame on them Me fooled me twice (Vega RX) shame on me :(

This should last me for a while and help out with rendering videos for my Youtube since they unlocked it this week

You've gone full collar and cuffs I hope :D

it's simples .. just 2 cards per address in the uk only ..
you know it's a miner when they order 5 at a time or have a non uk postcode ..
well that's if you really want to help uk gamers

If they sell at MSRP it would have to be 1 card per address to have any chance to get people to get A card.. Two cards to allow for CF is just meaning less people would get stock. But why would OCUK care?

I think the Vega56 is the better bet... but I'd be happy with an MSRP RX580

Won't wait for Volta?

Volta could be here as early as January.

Really? :( I've been waiting since March to see what Vega was like.

Why are people paying £600+ for 1080ti's if Volta is close?

Still game on my 970. But desperate for a new monitor.

An option I guess is just buy a 1400p Gysnc monitor and carry on with the 970 and wait for Volta.

But then again, waiting for a product we have no idea when arriving....

or

I buy second hand 1080 at around £350 so that if I do decided to upgrade again to Volta it's not too expensive.

I'm a little confused. The 1080 is about 30% faster than the 1070? Yet the Vega 56 seems to comfortably beat the 1070 and Vega 64 seems to just about keep up with a 1080. Sounds like the 56 is a good card but they couldn't really squeeze much more out of it in the 64.
It's not clear yet if those leaked 56 benchmarks are legit.

It's sad really. I have NV and what they did with Pascal bios locking

I used to be S3 person I had S3 Tio then S3 Virge and S3 Savage.
I had ATI 3D Rage and Rage 128 Radeon 7200 Radeon 9200 Radeon 9800 Pro Radeon X800 Pro Radeon HD 2600 PRO.
I had Crossfire of 4870 + 4850 ( and never touched dual gpu solution since)
Flashed 6950 to 6970 then 7950. After that I preordered 290x limited BF4 edition.

And then Fury X happened that Pushed me to buy NV first time in my life.... Was ok Ill wait for Vega but what AMD showed on sunday night.... Showed FAIL to me I was expecting 550 maybe 600 bucks for AIO MAX... And what 699 with some ******** with monitors and ryzen Discount .... I already swapped fully working 5820k for 1700x and gained Zero performance lost in games if anything but all i wanted was something descent enough to dump intel. So iw spent 1000 quid on psu cpu mb and ram just to get Shintel out. Thats other thing would need NEW PSU for Vega build cause 5 months old 650w platinum psu would not cut it....

I dont think ill jump back on AMD GPU not with the way they changed. Maybe they not had epic fastest single chip cards on market but at lest they had BANG FOR BUCK.
Now they dont have or fastest or cheapest or efficient...
And all this HYPE that derailed after FE got reviewed put me in depression again and had to go back to my doctor for new batch of antidepressants. THIS IS HOW MUCH AMD DISAPPOINTED ME !!!

They could have had the bang for buck option but I think HBM's high price point forced their hand.

You moved from a high end CPU to another high end CPU and were expecting a big difference in games? Did you read any of the reviews before you actually bought the Ryzen CPU? Moan and cry all you want, but Ryzen is a great CPU with lots of great features, if you only game, then you should have looked at other options.

Your 650W PSU would be fine for Vega.

And Shouldn't you have actually waited for reviews of Vega first?

So much melodrama about a graphics card. Games aren't going to get magically better with a better GPU. I never understand this love/hate, it's a product that you use. If your life happiness depends on the products you buy, you need to take a long hard look at your life.

So much this!

If your life happiness depends on the products you buy, you need to take a long hard look at your life.

Aint that the truth!

It's 10 days until RX Vega launch, if you'd waited this long surely a few more days wouldn't have killed you? You could have at least made an informed decision then. Just remember AMD/Intel/nVidia aren't your buddy, just buy what's best for your needs at the time. Or whatever you fancy playing with. I've bought plenty of CPU/GPU's in the past that haven't had the best reception purely because I wanted to have a go at using one (FX5800U i'm looking at you!).

If you were moving because you didn't want an Intel platform, well you succeeded, so what's the issue? You surely knew that going from a 5820K to Ryzen wasn't going to magically give you a ton of extra performance? Ryzen is applauded because it's brought a performance level previously locked into the highly expensive HEDT segment into the mainstream, while also letting AMD leapfrog several years of Intel incremental development and place them squarely nipping at their heals.

If you got rid of a 5820k system to buy Ryzen you really aren't thinking straight.

I'm glad Ryzen was a good release and all but there's no way on earth I'd get rid of my 5820k for one! Money down the drain.

Yeah. But at least when you wait for Volta you know they will be improving performance, not offering nearly 15 month old performance for nearly the same price.

If you can get a 1080 for £350, it would be worth getting that I suppose, but probably will be hard to grab it at that price any time soon due to inflated prices from miners.

Wait for Vega reviews, if disappointing and prices no good due to mining, just spend the money on a G-Sync monitor to keep you happy until Volta arrives. In your position I would be that.
