Well as i said look at threadripper prices, its basically change the "$" to a "£", a grand for the high end 1950x in america, same price over here, don't see why vega would be any different unless amd price it differently based on its performance vs the competition.

Was looking for one of these to partner an Oculus. Not at those prices, though. I'd sooner stick with my 290X.

Possible they're placeholder prices, though they look a bit specific, someone on reddit checked on the nz prices and found several places listing the same price. =/

Dem prices!

Basically your better off getting a blower vega 64 and either putting a waterblock on it or a different cooler entirely. As it is exactly the same as the Frontier edition cooler which is pretty crap when it comes to overclocking and the card is pulling 450w+.

You can get the standard card with waterblock for the same price that the watercooled edition is.

He also states it could be worthwhile getting a VEGA 56 and flash it, as long as things like HBM voltage or other memory differences aren't holding it back it could be near enough 64 performance.
Yeah he said the Vega 56 HBM voltage maybe lower than the 64 to reduce the TDP. A BIOS flash could raise it to the 64 level but he did warn that the AMD may not allow this by locking the BIOS. Overall he preferred Vega 56 due to potential performance and lower price.

That NZ shop has a 1080ti for $50 more so it makes no sense given the quoted launch prices. Either they are place-holder prices or bundle prices. If the FE launched at $999 & can be found for sale in the uk at £988 then... well.... damn, I just want a Vega56 at msrp.

Don't look like placeholder prices - usually they will either be a copy and paste of a similar product from the same manufacturer (and AMD and/or Sapphire doesn't really have anything in that price range) or set to something silly like 999999.99.

The 1080/70 prices were shocking, but if true those prices are a whole other level lolz

And think about this, supply of these could possibly be constrained (though amd says the 2 week delay was to build up a good amount of stock) and miners seemingly want to get their hands on them, so its entirely possible those prices don't even factor in that.....yet

Ryzen wasn't like that though. After the initial rush to buy ends the prices will likely level out.
