Summer Transfer Window 2017/18 - Rumours & Signings

Of course they will and once he tears the league up next season they'll want him more. It's already been rumoured that PSG are interested and even talk that Neymar (he and Coutinho are very close friends) has personally requested they try to sign him but with his deal and a bid for Mbappe even they can't swing that one.

As I keep saying, it's going to take a lot more than what's been offered for us to sell Coutinho this summer and even then, it might take Coutinho to pull a VvD too before we'd agree. His value isn't going to decrease, certainly not by enough to justify losing him for the season and not when we're having difficulties signing our main targets this window.

I have to assume that Coutinho wants to go, because if he didnt he could stop all of this by simply saying to the press categorically and leaving no room for doubt "I do not want to go" , the fact that he hasnt suggests to me that he does, its merely a question of price.

There are other questions which cross my mind...if he does want to go and is stopped from doing so, will that impact his performances this season...and if he does go, will both of his fellow Brazilians leaving affect Firmino in any way.

Inter Milan must be kicking themselves, they sell Coutinho for 8m and a few years later he might be sold on for 100m

what? coutinho won't 'tear up the league' you'll challenge for a top 4 place at most, whereas he could be challenging for a title and a champions league title at barca

Liverpool were challenging for the league last year until injuries an awful January knocked them out on contention. Same Liverpool team that outplayed Manu, city, arsenal, Tottenham and got the better of Chelsea.

it wasn't injuries that did that, you outplay the better teams and lose to the mid to lower table teams

Say Liverpool sell Coutinho, they are just going to be held to ransom when trying to get an equivalent player (and there aren't many available anyway).

I see Danny Rose has come out and said he wants to leave Spurs as they're a club without ambition. :p He wants to play in the north.

So basically Rose knows a Utd bid is incoming and he's creating a scenario where it makes it easier/puts more pressure on Spurs to sell him. Normally players wait until a bid has been rejected before they kick up a fuss, just shows you how desperate he must be to leave.

On a separate note, you've got to feel sorry for Eriksen. He's seen City blow £50m on Walker, Utd want Dier and Rose, and he's even come out and said he'd want to join Barca but nobody is bidding for him. Maybe if Barca can't get Coutinho and their 2nd, 3rd and 4th choices they might eventually turn to Eriksen. Hopefully Spurs don't stand in these players way - all they'll be competing for with Spurs is a CL spot where as they could go to big clubs and challenge for titles.

I think if Liverpool can't sign VvD they should turn their attentions to Alderweireld and rescue him from his Tottenham hell. We'll pay him what he deserves.

Klopp's given an interview in Germany where he talks about Barca's pursuit of Coutinho:

He says there is no price which would force us to sell. He admits that no player is 'untouchable' but that it's a matter of timing too and hinted that our inability to be able to replace him is part of the reason why we won't sell, regardless of what Barca offer.

Always felt that Suarez ended up with some sort of unwritten "give us one more season" sort of deal, wonder if Coutinho will get similar. When he does go, I think we should go for Isco as his replacement.

phil neville doesn't think he's worth £100m (and he's right) says he's not 'top, TOP' (and he's right) says they didn't miss him that much when he was injured and they'd have more chance of winning the league if they sold him and bought costa (and he's right)

Yo

Him and yourself deluded there is a massive difference when he doesn't play, he makes our team tick.

I doubt you watch our games so not like you can comment correctly anyway. You should be worried about your own club, you havent got any one to strengthen the team at all, if any club may struggle it's spurs next season
