I enjoyed the finale, though it was very predictable. The show has taken less risks since overtaking the books, it feels less shocking than it did in previous series.

It had me on edge the whole time. Yes the way it worked out was 'predictable', but this being GoT I really thought Jaime would come a cropper and Cersei was about to launch some sneak attack while they were in the pit. Very well written dialogue and brilliantly acted scenes with Cersei and Tyrion.

Edit: the twist for me was that there wasn't really a twist, aside from Cersi's triple treachery.
Didn't buy Euron storming off simply because Cersei would have had his head had he really tried. I think he probably was quite freaked out by the undead though.

Oh, and I was right Sansa and Arya were playing Littlefinger the whole time.

I'm on my lunch break and it's coming to an end so I haven't got time to do the necessary right now. Any talk relating to books should be in spoliers and indicated as such. I'll be checking later and if I need to do any edits (I've already spotted a couple over the last few pages) suspensions will be handed out. Take this opportunity to go back and edit your posts before I see them later tonight.

You have been warned multiple times

I thought the build up to the LF comeuppance was very well done,

Same here, I never saw that coming. I thought LF had succeeded in convincing Sansa that Arya was indeed the real threat. I would have enjoyed seeing him wriggle and squirm a little more, but it was pretty good. Likewise seeing Theon at least having being given a chance of partial redemption was interesting. Other than the timelines which are stretching and contracting at wil,l it's still just great story telling.

It's going to be interesting for Jamie come next series. He's sort of in no-mans land now he's turned his back on Cersei's spiral into madness. My money is on Cersei dying in childbirth having given birth to a dwarf. It would be ironic as she hates Tyrion so much. That said she passed up chances to end both Jamie & Tyrion. Also loved the little quip from the Hound, that the mountain was now uglier than he was. My only real disappointment has been the lack of direwolves. I thought with the reappearance of Nymeria we would be in for a flurry of fur and teeth at some point.

Baelish seemed to get a bit too safe/comfy. I still don't understand why he wouldn't run 200 miles after Bran revealed he knows his secrets by saying 'Chaos is a ladder'.

didnt want to be a **** but in last two pages i learnt many things from book talk which may air in tv episodes to come.its a highlight of my tv week so yes im happy if no book talk is now happening.
Fair enough.
FWIW, if I have posted any prior to that link, it's not been intentional.

Yeah just march to kings landing for a meeting that hasn't been mentioned yet incase it happens in a finale.

It takes the dothraki 2 weeks to reach the wall riding hard.
The lanister armies do it in 3 days.

It's all fantasy....

Not too far fetched however to believe there would be ties between the different mercenary groups, but it would be a bit random for the show.

Daario Naharis to return as leader of the Golden Company and screw Cersei over.

I like that, although when he sees Jon with Dany that might complicate things further.

Eh? They'd be marching east, you know, home bound. Casterly rock was devoid of stores and the Lannister army wasn't home. Time to go. Obviously they'd have been told at some point on that march where to go, we know this because... THEY ARE THERE! What Lannister army marched to the wall in 3 days (or equivalent exaggeration)?
They've done lapses of time between scenes yes but the only 'warp' travel stuff we've seen is the raven in the last episode. You shouldn't go making up things just to fill your own narrative.

Surely the Second Sons pretty much ended when Daario killed his 2 co-leaders and bent the knee to Dany?

It's not impossible for him to be at least involved in the Golden Company. That said I think they are really just some expensive red shirts! :p

So the unsullied having their fleet burned by Euron didn't really make a jot of difference? Also didn't all the iron born know Theon had been castrated so why was the guy surprised when he didn't flinch to the multiple knees to the groin?

Don't apply contextual logic to anything this season. You'll just end up with a headache xD
