What happened to all the good old OcUK Lynching and Permabanning?

I wish you hadn't banned him, that's just poured more fuel on his hate fire and he'll be able to change my Uncle Albert stories in a different direction.

Maybe the mods took it upon themselves to approve their posts first like they do with mine and they gave up wanting to contribute anything at all..

This message is awaiting moderator approval, and is invisible to normal visitors.

Point is?

We don't sit here waiting specifically to approve your posts.

I can ban you if it's easier?

My point is the forum is tame and maybe a bit dull because of its aim to protect the children from sycological trauma reading the forum after purchasing a high end computer to shoot their best mates in the face. The hypocrisy is strong..

The threats of a ban for pointing out forum flaws goes beyond telling Isis how much you love America.

It keeps freedoms at bay. That's my point. Who'd like to start a new thread with a threat of terms and conditions with a whiff of ban?

So let the yoof come through and start some topics on Friday nights with the parents out the house and let the men watch ******** and talk on a platform that doesn't discourage free speech and doesn't care if people are offended.

I'm not saying change. Just accept this place for what it is.

You're joking yes?

There was a point it was a banned term, due to its overuse by people who perceived anyone more progressive than Thatcher as a 'leftie', so I guess t-tong carried on using it after warnings not to. Things have relaxed again about its usage, especially since it turns out the biggest ********** going are actually the 'righties' who seem to get triggered by everything nowadays.

The epitome of that being the crying Nazi after the Charlottesville demonstrations posting his vlog, talking about how the 'Left' were bullying him and his poor Nazi mates and they felt threatened :D

It's not so much about misogyny as it is naturally differing interests of the sexes. Women don't necessarily belong everywhere, hard as that may be to swallow for the gender neutrality loons. Just like typical blokes wouldn't generally hang out on a flower arranging forum.

But hey if misogyny fits your leftist agenda better then carry on.
There were more women on here historically though, so while there's an element of women being less interested in technology on the whole your point doesn't actually stand up. If anything technology should be, on average, attracting more and more women these days so there should have been a steady increase, but there hasn't - why is that? You can wrap it up any which way it suits you and pretend it's part of some "leftist agenda", the question was raised and i answered it. There's a culture of bitter, "hard-done-by", little boys on here who make it an unpleasant place for women to have their voice heard and so.. they don't bother! I doubt men would get the same treatment on a flower arranging forum as the **** women get attributed on here and i bet there is a higher % of men on flower arranging forums than there are women on here. For instance:

https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/yoga-pants.18786071/

so many guys just saying women wear yoga pants for male attention, including 2 Dons in the first 5 posts. There's plenty of blokes in cycling gear and no-one seems to think it's for sexual attention. Fundamentally the attitude towards women on here is often one of objectification or suspicion ("don't marry her, she'll take your stuff" etc..) and why would you want to engage when that sort of culture is prevailing? Are you genuinely telling me that you think the forum is, on the whole, very egalitarian and the only reason there aren't more women here (not an equal number of women, just more) is because they aren't as interested in technology? I don't expect you to answer the question, frankly i don't care about the answer, just ask it of yourself.

That's without even starting to get into the Muslim/immigrant bashing..

I think a lot of that comes from personal experience and being (understandably?) bitter about it. A lot of us on here are old gits now so are getting cantankerous and cranky. :D

You're right though, definitely less women on here these days and I have to wonder if we've scared them all off. :)

My wife is wearing yoga pants at the moment, she just made it very clear that she is not looking for male attention.

I got a post deleted for saying an Audi TT had the interior of Darth Vaders helmet. Now we sympathise with car feelings too in case they are anthropomorphic....

SexyGreyFox, why was Dimple an Insult? Do you have Dimples?

I admit that this place isn't the most diverse, but two questions back to you:

1. Why does this forum need to be diverse in your opinion? Can't some things just be left to competitive forces (i.e. aggrieved female technology enthusiasts go and start a more equal forum, and men from here that agree go and join them)? Women want equality when it suits them, but ask females if they should be conscripted in times of war and they're suddenly not so keen.

2. What's your solution to sorting it out, if indeed there is a problem?

People in general are big on problems and small on solutions. The only solution that will work is for all these aggrieved women to capitalise on the (no doubt numerous) blokes on here that feel similar to you and leave for a more welcoming environment.

1. OP posted question on why it's so quiet around here so i told them why i thought it was:
There's a bit of a culture of difficult people on this forum isn't there tbh? It's no wonder there's barely any women on here. A lot of misogynistic opinions and generally a bit of a bitter outlook. There's some gems, but there also aren't. I'm still here though

It's since developed into this discussion. I didn't say it had to be diverse, it's just a reason (imo) that it's a bit dull. The dominant opinions here (on several things) fit with the world view of the predominant member and those views are often not very diverse and can be insulting. For example, see "equality when it suits them" generalisation, above. I don't think not wanting to be conscripted is a female trait is it? Who wants to do something against their will? Plenty of men have avoided conscription! As an aside why is it such debates always end up in a "what about a war?" based scenario? It speaks volumes in itself. Which leads me on to:

2. Why is the "only" solution that all the people who don't agree with you should leave? haha. I'm pretty sure, in light of peoples' evident malaise with the forum, a slightly more inclusive frame of mind could help a little couldn't it? I'm not expecting miracles but, for example, Dons boiling down their motives to solely being sexually attractive to men could change quite easily. Lead by example etc.. Just my 2p.

Well I don't agree with the yoga pants comments but if women choose to go elsewhere rather than stay and try and change hearts and minds, then I think ambivalence is probably my prevailing emotion.
