Isn't six years old very young to be engaging in gender determination decisions? I heard about this story over the weekend and I thought it was merely about dressing up in a girl's uniform. And if priests are defrocked doesn't that imply that they wear women's clothes too?

The younger the better! I look forward to hearing about transgender pre-school children in a couple years time. Will be nice to see how truly progressive we are, and not at all bat-**** insane!

Because it opens the door to further questions and expanding on sexuality. Transgenderism goes hand in hand with other forms of sexuality. You can't talk about one aspect of it without broaching the others and it is not reasonable to expect 6 year olds to be exposed to that.

My kids are 8 and 6, they don't know what sex is, they have heard the word but at the moment think it is just heavy kissing. They are both pretty smart for their ages but it is clear that their powers of reason are only just developing.

You may feel differently but I feel that these subjects belong in a more mature environment. I am happy to explain to my kids about sex education when I feel they are more mature, when they can absorb that information properly.

Wonder how long it's going to be before some poor sod ends up in jail for referring to bloke on Twitter as a bloke, but then having the full force of the gender thought police come crashing down on him because it turns out that the bloke isn't a bloke at all but identifies as a red panda or something and has then gone crying to the police about hate crimes?

Because parents will subject their children to their own belief systems, be that conservative religiousness or ultra liberalism.

What happens then is that people don't speak their mind in public.

They whisper behind closed doors, they meet each other in secret, it's already happening.

History shows that when one group of people subject another group of people to their beliefs through force of law that things head downhill pretty quickly.

Paul and Jesus both explicitly state that the Law of Moses is no longer in effect. Paul spends several chapters explaining this in at least two of his epistles.

Gender is a physiological status not a mental one. When will people realise that no matter what procedures you go through and what mental illnesses you're unfortunate enough to suffer from, you're still either a boy or a girl.

I don't think anyone has a problem with someone who was born with none or both sexual organs identifying as either.

TBH I don't think most people have a problem with transgenders at all. But just accept it is a mental illness and treat it as such.

I then think the vast majority of people have a problem when kids are involved. Already had one post this week with a young boy who transitioned and wants to change back after two years.

Being treated like some kind of fashion gimmick.

Well there is clear evidence that sex and gender are not simple to assign by any measure, there is no evidence that god or hell exists so it's hard to square your false equivalence here.
