Boy removed from school in transgender rights row

Is the kid really transgender or just going through a phase of wearing a skirt?

At that age I sometimes played dress-up in my grandma's fancy jewellery, maybe a dress and high heels too. Whoopie. Nobody cared. A kid playing.

Maybe people were less restrictive about gender >40 years ago. Seems like an odd thing to say, but I'm seeing restrictions increasing rather than decreasing nowadays and I'm seeing the rigid connection of sex and gender increasing a lot nowadays.

I guess the difference is these days that if you had some SJW type parents then they might see the playing with dresses, give a happy reaction that their son is possibly 'queer'/trans etc.. and reinforce/encourage the behaviour + associate encourage that sort of association with it.

U wot m8?

The bits of the bible relevant to the discussion were most certainly written BC. Maybe not 6000 BC, but they certainly recount events in that vicinity.

The bible itself says Jesus was reading the Old Testament law aged 12, so unless you think they only bothered to write it down in those preceding 12 years, you're clearly wrong.

Unless of course the bible was only written last week and they just said Jesus was reading it. It's a conspiracy.

I suspect the idea was that it was all written in the 1st-4th centuries AD, not that it was written last week. Also provably wrong (e.g. there are earlier references to Jews and Judaism), but not as mad a conspiracy belief as last week.

And announce it on Facebook and Twitter, probably.

I could probably grab a few fashionable labels nowadays. The LGBTABCDEFG alphabet soup one, since I'm bisexual. Some gender one, since I think almost all of gender is made up nonsense I don't care about and the rest is a matter of trends that don't apply to any individual. I don't know what fashionable gender label that would get me, but there must be one. But I reject identity politics so they can shove their labels up their arses.

Because they legally have to. And no, this crap wouldn't fly in an islamic school but they tend to be rather backwards!
If challenged it would have to be allowed in an islamic state school the rules are simple and clear, the difference here is non religious people don't send kids to islamic schools in the same way they do CofE and Catholic ones!

the old testament is just a rip of the torah isnt it?

that's ancient in comparison to the bible iirc.

Exactly this, at school I and many friends did the same, we dressed up with wigs and pretended to be mum in the house, nobody said anything (in the 80's admittedly) but now the kids do it they are trans or wrong identity or whatever, I suspect most of this is the parents influence and they get a free pass in all this and the parents on the other end get called out, it's all very dangerous in my opinion.

Kids have no idea about anything at that age or what any of the gender stuff means.

Personally I think it is all a bit mad.
I understand the need to be 'diverse', I do however think that people are putting it on and using it as a reason to be a *********. I used to live with someone (House share) who was transitioning (Female to male) and she will let's put it really odd.
In someways it takes guts, but in others it didn't really make sense, in a contradictory sort of way. I am however, glad that I have nothing to do with them anymore, mainly because they where a lazy ****.

The same goes, she was a snow flake, wouldn't go out, all the issues she has is down to someone else, and she won't change it. Annoying as if you can see that someone has potential, but would rather do nothing. 25 years of age, with nothing to their name, only a crappy PC, which I fixed a few times to stop her having a mental breakdown.

All a bit odd really. Not to say that everyone going through the change is like it, but I have met a couple, and they all give me that vibe. Annoying really.

Sorry, but there should be no confusion here. You shouldn't have a transgender child in the first place. A 6 year old child cannot possibly know that they'd prefer to be a girl rather than a boy. My 2.5 year old son sometimes wears a nurse outfit at the soft play place, that doesn't make him transgender. So can we please let kids continue to be kids, and when they get to a representative age where they are fully aware of the world and their own minds, let them decide then if they want to be transgender.

Better put than I did earlier in the thread.

Why are people so quick now to assign kids/children as transgender when they don't 'conform' to gender norms?

On the one hand they argue that there is no real difference between the sexes, that gender is a social construct, no line in the sand when it comes to differences in gender, that gender specific items should no longer exist.

But as soon as a child does something that is against the grain it's OMGTRANSGENDERCHILD!

Why can't it be a child who is just playing?

If you have to assign a gender to the child why can't it just be a boy who likes playing with dolls, or a girl who likes action man? Both of which are fine.

Why do they have to be suddenly 'born in the wrong body'.

Oh I know. Fashionable.

"your kid is wearing a dress, must be transgender"
"Can you stfu?"

how my conversation would go.

TBH.... make all kids wear trousers. I can't believe people are being given whole new "Identities" because they like a particular garment.

Do people forget it was men who started to wear high heels first? Now because they want to wear a skirt or dress "Transgendyarrrrr!" (pronounce it in a pirate voice)...

if you have a P****, you're a guy. If you have a v*****, you're a girl. what you want to wear doesn't change that and if society accepted that notion, instead of making whole "Identities" for the middle ground there might be less confusion.

The whole identity crisis itself is ridiculous. There are solutions for sex change - get it done and be done with it, South Park did it best with Mr Garrison - Man becomes gay, decides to become a woman, turns lesbian. All because people are indecisive and don't accept themselves.

Yep, you nailed it with your last point.

Spot on in my opinion. Having lived with something you always takes the aforementioned 'Middle Ground' and getting offended when they really shouldn't.

Comical, but sad really.

Is there any evidence that the parents of the allegedly "transgender" child have labelled him as such? Or just that the mentalist parents have?

In work the other day, this 'guy' I served was annoyed because I called him mate! He said "I am a woman!" He / It, didn't look like a woman! Ok, it had long blond hair, 'boobs' but stubble on face and chest and looked like a guy! Really!

The human race is a mess!

Which begs the question why a Church of England school even allows it? if the church are going to support things like homosexuality and transgenderism then they've completely undermined what they stand for (Christian teachings based upon the bible).

Because despite whatever the bible may or may not say most clergy are on the Left. Even the former Archbishop of Canterbury described himself as a "hairy leftie"

TBH.... make all kids wear trousers.

I say mate to my wife, you should have told HER to MAN up.

Then they would have had a reason to be a rude ****.
