Seriously who really cares about fast charging? 'I have never thought man I wished my phone charged faster'. How often are you really away from a plug socket or a USB port? It also reduces the lifespan of the battery if you do it all the time.

Was never on my want list but once you have it, you realise how useful it is. If you're at home or work and didn't change your phone and need to go out somewhere soon. I can just put in the charge for 15 mins and it will take it from 10% to almost full.

I also don't need to worry about changing my phone any more or it running low. As it charges so quick, I just charge it on a whim.

I wonder if the tech will get so advanced that in the future you won't have chargers at home, you'll just rock up to a coffee shop and charge your phone for 10 seconds every few days?

Me because it's amazing, as a user above said once u have it.... I use my phone all day then when I want to go out in the evening or go to work in the evening I wack it on my fast charger for 30 mins, then it's nearly full again, godsend, use it on my v20.

I specifically reach for my fast charger several times a week instead of a normal charger next to my bed.

I think most people would not have been bothered if they'd done a full strip across the top rather than the notches. It's just a bit rubbish isn't it?
I was all for buying one until I saw that and the distinct lack of anything that sets it apart from the crowd. Was hoping that they'd held back a killer feature that may not have been leaked, but nope, it really is a lacklustre phone.

The only reason I can think why the notch is there is because they couldn't figure out a way of fitting all the camera/faceID/ir across the top. I don't believe for a second its part of the design, its purely a compromise. Honestly its not something you would expect Apple to do.

I'm not sure how they could do it any other way? Apart from cutting off the screen below that notch...

I have to admit I am not a fan of the notch, I don't see how much of an issue it would have been had Apple just had a thin black bar across the top like the S8 does but not the bottom. I don't see what it adds by having it compared to not having it. I still want one though.

I thought it was great that Apple finally added fast charging to the iPhone - it's not a feature that I require often, but there are situations where it's certainly beneficial. But, just like the iPad Pro 10.5" and 12.9", the included cable/charger don't support fast charging which is a bit disappointing. You need a lightning to USB C cable and the C mains adapter to do it which has an RRP of £25 for a 1 metre cable and an almost hilarious £49 for the Apple USB C charger so £74. Crazy.

Can't decide wether to wait for the X or get the Note 8 now , after seeing an s8 at the weekend in person the screen is immense , and on the note it's bigger then the X ... also it's considerably cheaper you can get the phone direct from Samsung for £32 a month think the iPhone will be nearer £50 .... hmmmm decisions decisions ...

Just wondering, where are the DND symbol, wificall symbol, battery percentage etc., going to go? I don't think they'll fit within the notches on the X.

Maybe wait until you can hold both in your hand and then make the decision?
Don't think I could wait that long haha as the X will be out of stock by the time I've held them both .. I'll either go for the not8e or pre order the X ... no idea which I'll go for though !

I don't really understand all of these comparisons to the Note 8...

The size difference between the two is quite considerable. One of the reasons I am interested in the iPhone X is that it has a bigger screen size than the iPhone 7/8 Plus but is considerably smaller. I will never be a fan of these large phablet style devices.
