Hotel/Breakfast - What would you do?

I'd assume it isn't included given what the other comparison site is quoting

I'd also fee a bit miffed as the inner pedant in me starts to get annoyed at them calling it a 'free breakfast' when they're clearly charging extra if you want it included

It's often cheaper to pay room only then pay for breakfast at the hotel, I reckon this is a big way these sites make profit.

I typically find it's usually the opposite of that; when you make an advanced booking for breakfast, you are saving a little bit compared to if you paid for it during each siting.
I've stayed in a number of hotels where breakfast is usually around £15, but it's closer to £20 without having paid for it in advance.

Booking sites aside, I've also stayed in hotels where they will specifically tell you this when you check in, with the goal being to get you to sign up to breakfast every morning at the cheaper rate.

One thing that I've noticed which has started to crop up more recently is hotels using a free breakfast as an incentive to book directly with them, rather than using the price comparison websites.

Maybe it's an absolute triple monster full english.

I feel a tad queasy just reading that, but to each his own.
I stayed at a small b/b up north a long time ago, on a job with 3 other guys, at breakfast a young waitress took our orders, and I asked if they grilled their bacon, or fried it.
She said that they could do either, so I asked for scrambled eggs and a couple of grilled rashers.
One of the other guys asked for a cholesterol sandwich, she said, "what's that?", he said, "a full English."

I've had a few hotel rooms in the past without breakfast and it's a pain in the rear going outside. I'd happily pay a few extra quid to wander downstairs and shove something down my face.

They always let you upgrade on the day, just wander down decide if you want to eat based on how it looks. Go for the cheaper option.

I thought booking sites did have inconsistencies(different commisions), so despite the coincidence that the 159 was with breakkfast at one site and w/o at another,
I would have taken it at its word and purchased the first ... you need to shop around

e) Walk 2 mins down the road and get breakfast at McDonalds/Chatwins/Pret/Starbucks :)

^^^^ This, or find a Weatherspoons, they do a good English Breakfast.

I tend not to go for breakfast in the hotel I'm staying in, I go out for a bit of a walk and find a local cafe.
