The other day I was in the overtaking lane, overtaking, as you do. It was an average speed mway and I had no intention of getting a ticket so I was passing another car fairly slowly (about 20 secs for the whole overtake) when this Q7 decides to stick his nose on my bumper. Eventually I move over and make a gesture that rhymes with anchor and he saw it. He almost lost control of his car trying to slow down, roll down his window and get his middle finger out fast enough because he obviously was an alpha male and he will not be made fun of. It was quite funny but very dangerous, he very nearly lost the Audi which would've resulted in one hell of a messy crash.
It's amazing how people are on the roads.
So road rage then?![]()
lol, you make such a gesture at someone and they’re the childish one for responding in kind?!
Drop a gear and disappear.

I get this sometimes whilst on my motorbike. It’s usually the yobs driving Focus ST or some form of sport version of their German pride and joy that insist on not letting anyone get ahead.
What they forget is there are always faster vehicles so it’s pointless even trying to play the “I’m going to put accelerate you if you try an overtake” game. Pretty much anything less than a hyper car is slower than most big bikes, yet they’ll still try to win the race.
Only yesterday I signalled to overtake someone, pulled out and the car in lane 2 continued to speed up until I was alongside. I looked in through his window and shook my head... then passed him![]()
I'd love to argue that it's not, but even this morning I had the usual "flash flash flash flash" how dare you have overtaken me perfectly safely when I'm doing 40MPH in an NSL in my brand new A4 diesel.
Drop a gear and disappear.
Exactly. Mine would do 0-60 in 3.2s (not a sports bike either), but it’s like they want to beat physics?i'm surprised they try that with motorbikes, given how you don't need to look hard to find most motorbikes will leave your average car in the dust.
Those pictures were photoshopped and he said he was called Megan Fox and had been in films but loved a bit of Polo in her life. So I sent the picture and waited. No need. Houseys balls are so big he just don't give a rat's ass.
one of the reasons for a powerful car - go to overtake and if they decide to be a prat and speed up you can still out accelerate and get in frontand back down to cruising speed easily/safely. Non dual carriageway it can be quite unsafe if they start to accelerate, you're left exposed for way longer than ideal/planned, so surely better to just be able to blast in front with a suitable throaty noise

When being overtaken by someone in a rage I contort my expression into a huge overbite and sit bolt upright with my face as close to the windscreen as possible as they pass, I don't look at them but stare straight forward whilst trying to maintain the same ridiculous driving position.
Sounds daft but this really cheers me up every time!
This^
Much more dangerous than the OP's situation and something I've encountered a few times over the years. It's nice to be able to put your foot down even further if the person your overtaking decides too.
I tend to overtake quickly anyway, so if they decide to put their foot down as I'm coming past I already have a lot more momentum then they do.

I got a lift off my boss the other week who did this and it was infuriating. He'd do 70 on the dot until he came to a vehicle in front then he'd overtake everything in that "block" at about 80-85 then pull back in to 70. So odd.
