Bladerunner 2 (Spoilers!)

I often wonder what women see on screen when they watch this stuff as they just never have a clue whats going on lol. Do you think they just switch off and start thinking about shoes?

Remember watching Empire Strikes Back with my good lady and she said what is that thing moving about all over the screen! It was the Millenium Falcon.

“What’s a Replicant?”; “Will we have flying cars in 2049?”; “I though Han Solo was dead?”; “Oooo a unicorn!!”; “It’s been nearly 2 hours now and I’m bored, how long left?.......... Another 45 mins? can we go?”

Good luck :D
That sounds like my sister with most films...

My nephews were oddly glad to start to go to the cinema on their own/with just their dad and myself for any of the comic book/sci-fi films :)

I think mine just switches off. She's decided she doesn't like sci-fi and won't give any a chance as, "It's all the same isn't it, stupid spaceships and weird looking people." Put Pitch Perfect on and she's enthralled though!

Sounds just like my wife! Unless its a romantic comedy or the usual dross soaps on the TV shes not interested!

I'm not holding out much hope, her Humax is full of soaps and docu-rubbish. As long as she leaves me be (which to be fair she normally does) I'll be happy.

1 hour to go :D

For anything surrounding Deckard's story I would say yes. However, not having seen this yet I couldn't 100% honestly say.

I enjoyed the definitive cut but:

I don't like the fact Ridley Scott said Deckard was definitely a replicant. It undermines the underlying themes for me.

At the end Deckard questions that he might be one, the kicker is just that...how can he know. You should finish the film with many deep questions like "Am I really who I think I am or just the sum of my memories? What is it that makes people human, is there really such a thing or is it an illusion?"

After the last Star Wars film, I thought Harrison Ford had forgotten how to act or just didn't care any more. After watching this, it looks like Villeneuve had a cattle prod and made him work for his money this time around. :p

I wasn't a fan of the original but I knew Denis wouldn't let us down.... and he hasn't. It is very good indeed. :)

Not really spoilers but I'll use the tags just in case anyone gets upset.

I really didn't like the little reminders to what happened earlier in the film. It's like treating the audience as if they were too stupid to follow the plot. This certainly was not the case with Arrival.

Just got back from the local Imax and have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the film, it looked and felt like the original.
I'm going to pre-order the steelbook now as I want to watch it again (but won't pay for the cinema again):)

Yes, really enjoyed that. A worthy sequel which definitely had the atmosphere of the original. (the g/f made it to 30 mins before nodding off :p)

My missus is as at least as Sci Fi/fantasy geeky as me and advised me to see this and arrival before it, geeky though she is, she never got into code/tech etc.
Oddly since playing minecraft with the nipper I've caught her youtubing command block tutorials full of coding/computational thinking...

Just watched this and disappointed is an understament, and I love blade runner. Visuals are good although I still prefer the originals. Uber slow first half and it doesn't get quicker the 2nd. And weak ending. Wasn't worth the 35 year wait.

As a photographer I work really hard to get 1 good photo, this movie has almost 3 hours of amazing imagery, if blade Runner 2049 do not get Roger Deakins his Oscar, I'd love to see the movie that wins.

The actual movie, I am still processing as I was still in my seat less than 10mins ago. In awe is a feeling I have now, much more so than the first Blade Runner and I think this tops it in every way. It took what the first one laid out and then build on it 1,000%. Everything in this world felt real, everything, even things that seem unreal felt real in this world.

Best movie of 2017.

Words from the man himself:

https://www.rogerdeakins.com/film-talk/blade-runner-2049-2d-or-3d/

We shot the film in 2D and in a wide screen format.

I think I said previously that I oversaw the timing of all the versions of 'BR2049' including the HDR version.

My preferred version is the standard 2D widescreen version. A problem I have with some viewing systems is their use of silvered screens. The image projected on a silvered screen lacks saturation as well as density as it falls off from a hot spot in the center of vision. This may not be so apparent for someone sitting in the optimum viewing seat but it is a compromise in terms of image quality wherever you are seated, though it maybe a compromise worth accepting if you are a fan of 3D.

Yep; def going back for a review in 2D. Having slept on it; I really enjoyed it. Agree with Ray but I'd go further and say best Sci-Fi of the decade+. Keeping this light as I know people have yet to see it.
