It's not worth buying a ps4 pro, is it...

It was worth it for me just for the framerate boost as I can now enjoy my favourite series without horrendous tearing and dips. Everything else, like better Wi-Fi or graphical upgrades, is just a bonus.

Everyone here will say it's not worth it and you might believe it isn't until you find games that run like dog poo or slow down on the base model. And there are quite a lot of them.

My 1070 came today, so I'll be fine for a while for certain games, just get it on the pc and hdmi to TV. When I can afford a 4k TV I'll go for it.

Better off buying used or black Friday/ Xmas sales ? Never bought a TV personally. The one I have now is a free offer that was with going with sky haha

I'd hold off from 4K for a while tbh. HDR seems to be finding its feet and it is quite expensive to get a set with good enough nits output to make worthwhile.

And then what happens in 2-3 years time when the new consoles come out with Dolby Vision. New 4K TVs everybody! :p Am I right in thinking only the LG OLEDs have Dolby Vision currently? Dunno.

I've got 4k none HDR and tbh I haven't really noticed a difference... that said only played Destiny 2 and Fifa 18 on it.

Would probably upgrade again if given the chance but as my dad says "a fool is easily parted with his money" and that's me all over.

Best game to make use of pro is zero dawn nothing has done as well as that imo.

FFXV is much better with the higher framerate. I've got the PRO connected to a 55" Samsung KS7000 4K HDR and release day PS4 + VR connected to a 1080p projector with 100" screen :)

Jesus. Would you recommend a decent 4k HDR TV under 45"? I should look out for used or maybe on sales throughout this year?

Maybe cause I don't have hdr but when I played through ff xv whilst pretty zero dawn looked nicer imo

I bought a PS4 Pro just for GT:S and have played on my 4K monitor, but usually play on my (currently 1080p) sim rig, and the nice thing about 1080 is you get all the extra 'quality' stuff as well as 60fps replays on the pro, which I think are great..

Same argument for the Xbox One X, not having a 4K screen is not that big a deal, you still get all the graphical improvements + better AA etc, even at 1080p.

I think the big difference you notice though is not the resolution, it's the benefit that HDR brings.

Absolutely, Horizon is by far the best looking game I've played (console or PC). The frame rate improvements were the biggest difference for FFXV, I went over the performance setting opposed to resolution.

Is that increased textures and lighting I notice first, hdr I'm still not sold on, I've tried GTS on my 55C6 oled in hdr and whilst it looked nice, I find things a little too bright at times, but each to their own!
