***Official - Super Mario Odyssey Thread!*** NO SPOILERS

I wasn't aware getting a game 2 days early was classed as an outrageous claim even by internet standards but that's just me. As to the fun to share, lost on me sorry. Maybe it's because I'm not 12 any more or I don't know. Not trying to belittle anyone, just honestly didn't understand it. Then again I don't understand why people like to watch other people playing games.
Seems an oddly late review embargo for this game.

Yea usually Nintendo reviews are well in advance. I wonder if it has anything to do with fire emblem coming out right before it? Sending out rave Mario reviews may have swayed some buyers?

Although true, many have stayed away from even trailers to go in completely blind. I'd approach it with anything is a spoiler, some are more sensitive to this stuff than others

Yeah this is true. That's why I deleted my original answer. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone.

I've watched 2 trailers and a small amount of one of the treehouse events. Most of what I've seen was a long time ago so I'm going in pretty much blind. Please just spoiler tag everything if you have started playing early.

Nailed it :)

I saw the original trailer then a bit of content at E3 but have made a point to try and avoid it. I guess for the thread we can keep stuff like that as spoiler until release day?

Proof that he isn't making it up that it came 2 days early?

As i'm sure you know, lots of people talk BS on the internet.

Also back in the 360 days when piracy was rampant people would always seem to get the game just as it was leaked onto torrent sites.

It was customary to post a picture of the game as evidence that you owned a legit early copy and could discuss it before the release date.

Anyway, I'm done reading this thread so enjoy Mario everyone. I'll be joining you on Friday with my Red Mario Switch bundle.

Yes it does.
Nice :)

How are you controlling it? I'm tempted to give the 1 joycon in each hand method a go and see how it feels? Not sure what's the best way to play. But if I'm going back and forward from docked to handheld I may just use it in the conventional controller sense to make both methods match up in my brain :D

Pro controller. Works really well. I've tried it with a joycon in each hand, and it works well with the motion controls. Mario is a joy to control. He has a lot of moves, and the hat mechanic really adds a lot more to his move set.
