Also loving it so far, just left New Donk City with 160ish moons. Initially after the first 20mins I was thinking it was going to be a let down but it just gets better and better. Splatoon 2 and Mario Odyssey = Addiction overload .

Now that I have a properly working switch without input lag I'm completely into Splatoon again.

Have to say I got bored on Mario extremely quickly and haven't played it since the day after getting it, a shame as I was hoping this would give me reason to use the Switch more

I'm not sure what it is I just don't think I like Nintendo games anymore, whether its the cute graphics/sound or just gameplay but it just doesn't keep my attention for very long. Compare that to something like Wolfenstein which I played a lot over the weekend and really enjoyed and got me hooked.

Same and I loved the first Wolfenstein but I'm just in to this at the moment.

Funny thing is I haven't owned a Nintendo console since the Gamecube and I felt like I had moved on when I got into PC gaming and the MS/Sony consoles. With the Switch I've kind of fallen back in love with Nintendo games and I'm remembering what it was that I loved about them in the first place. The only physical game I've bought this year that wasn't a Switch game is Destiny 2 and I got bored of that very quickly and sold it on. I think I'm probably just burnt out on fps shooters.

Lost kingdom, still enjoying it but I'm starting to feel I'd like to spend more time as Mario rather than having to change into another character every 5 minutes. Oh and the camera angles can sometimes get right on my thripney bits.

You do have to do a lot of manual camera control.

Not really found it a problem to be honest, a lot of third person games need lots of player input for the camera.

Plus you need to move it around to find the hidden moons

I like the game to flow, not too keen on having to stop and line up the best viewpoint. An observation and a small niggle in what is a really good game.

Been spoiled on a world because someone I follow on Twitter favourited some random guys screen shot it then appears on my timeline. So annoying. Dont even stop to look but even at a glance past its enough to ruin something

I'd rather it was all manual control - the occasions when the game kicks over feels quite jarring. Especially as running towards the camera and from the sides looks cool as hell - and adds a little challenge.

Finished the main story last night with about 270 moons, I felt the game dipped a little in the later kingdoms, a couple of which are very very short indeed. There is a great kingdom towards the end but its sandwiched in some quite disappointing ones.

A lot of the post-story moons become very close to filler content, there are some notable exceptions and some of them are hard as nails (unlike the main game which is pretty easy for the most part other than a couple of the slightly tougher boss battles).

I'll probably aim to get most of the moons but can't see myself going for 100%, most of the races and some of the mini-games have extra stars that I just wouldn't enjoy getting as I find some of the controls for those bits is a bit sloppy.

I didn't mind the motion controls, not sure they added much though and I think locking out some abilities (and hence some moons) beyond motion controls is pretty poor form.

I think the reviews might have been a touch too glowing, I'd probably give it a solid 9/10. There's heaps of imagination for sure and plenty of smiles and fan service but personally I don't think it'll stand alongside BotW in a few years as an absolute masterpiece.
