New car, Octavia VRS estate or Leon Cupra ST 300, or something else?

The 245 has more standard kit, the power difference is somewhat irrelevant I suspect :p

At least I wasn't going completely mad, Broadspeed was where I had seen the cheapest 245 offered.

I think I'll just stick with the Leon, it's got an extra 45bhp, 4wd, DCC as standard, not bad for an extra £30 or so a month.

The only thing I'd like it to have is the newer 7 speed DSG that the Octavia gets, but I'm sure I can live with 6 gears.

I have a Cupra Black 290 with the 6 speed DSG and like it a lot, its on a 2 year lease and goes back next august, would seriously consider another when its time for replacement.

Our MB GLA has 7 gears and the thing is NEVER in the right one. Maybe having too many means a narrow band of usage. Or maybe the MB gearbox is carp

Be aware that Cupra's are mega delayed right now. I ordered one in July and delivery is Feb/March, you can see many more cases of this on the pistonheads Seat/audi forum unfortunately.

I went for the 245 deal

£199 Fee

£226 down and 23 x £226

Keeping the C63 the Skoda is our second car...

Factory order though and seems like there is a longgggg waiting time on them.

As Fox said, I was pretty happy with how the car was standard so kept it that way as adding options seems to take away the 'value' aspect of it..

I didn't realise they do a 230 and a 245. What is the point in that?

As others have mentioned it isn't just the power upgrade. It's essentially the performance pack to the Golf GTI but on an Octavia VRS. Additional standard kit, bigger rear brakes, VAQ diff, and the option of the 7 speed wet clutch DSG. 230 only gets the older 6 speed.

Unfortunately Skoda have ruined the appeal by limiting you to boring colours if you take the 245...

A good summary, I think the interior is also nicer as well.

My mrs doesn't really care what she drives as long as it's an auto (we are both DSG converts and wouldn't go back to a manual) but her only other requirement is that the car isn't red. She came around to red on the VRS 245 as it works quite nicely with the black trim, but I'm tempted to surprise her by changing my order to meteor grey for an extra £16 per month.

Part of me thinks no, it's not worth it and makes the deal worse. But on the other hand I think she would really like it. Tough choice :)

they also bump the spec to electric alcantara front seats and i think you get front and rear parking sensors as standard

i think the red goes well with the black trim they put on it..its a decent red

Yeah the 245 works out cheaper if you add in the additional extras it comes with, not including the VAQ diff and extra power.

Meteor Grey is very marmite, I'd probably stick with Red. And I'm not generally a fan of red cars.

Where did you order that from?
