Star Wars Battlefront 2 Benchmarks

No one should be buying this game and supporting a "pay to win" model. Its a scam.

With respect, I'll do what I want.

I enjoyed the Beta, I enjoyed the 10 hour free EA early access and I have not and will not ever buy a loot box in my life.

EA have been doing it with FIFA for years, and nobody tells those gamers not to buy it.
GTA V has loads of online microtransactions - It's making Take Two a fortune.

This is how cames are going. If whales and kids want to fund me a years worth of free DLC, maps etc then more fool them.

And ultimately, if someone spends 100 hours grinding to unlock an X-wing that turns faster and has more health, or somebody buys it, what's the difference? - The gamers who don't have those unlocked things are still at a disadvantage and I will never know if they paid for it or played for it.

Totally agree mate. I will buy the game and like the first get my money's worth. I won't buy any loot crates and i never do on games that you pay up front for. In free to play games i do as that's how they make there money. As you say this is the way all games will be going so it's either quit gaming or still play but don't support by buying the Micro transactions. Tbh for £50 i will get way more fun per £ than i would in just about anything else i can imagine.

I bought the first one but the multiplayer part just felt a bit lame and I got bored of it very soon. I would rather have a good single player Star Wars game without all this pay to win crap that they add on to these games.

You really don't know what the difference is? I mean you must do as it's written in your question. If you don't want to support EA in their decision to have pay to win loot boxes in this game then as you say you have to grind, for that period of time that you're grinding you're at a disadvantage to someone that does buy the loot boxes. Granted, if you keep on playing it'll all level out eventually but atleast for awhile you're at a disadvantage.

It's using a free to play model in a £50 game, shameful really.

But the guy who buys the game in 3 months second hand (on console anyway) is going to be at the same disadvantage whether somebody has been grinding away unlocking powerful star cards or bought them all.

Ultimately people should get mad with any multiplayer XP progress game that gives you a benefit, whether it's COD killstreaks, A more powerful weapon etc etc. It doesn't matter if you can buy upgrades, because the game is unbalanced either way.

Anyone can pick up Overwatch now and they would only be at a skill/knowledge disadvantage. Existing players wouldn't have access to any perks that make their character better.

That is a fair point, and something that really does seem to be forgotten about in games.

For me buying creates isn't a issue it pays for the free DLC better than having premium and maps locked out messing with the playerbase.

I believe from reading around and what I been told most of the hate towards battlefront comes from the amount of time it will take to unlock everything.

Exactly, I understand that getting to buy loot crates for betterment in F2P games but not something that you have paid a fair wad of cash for already.

Yes, well that just highlights another issue in that someone that doesn't buy the game straight away is going to be at a disadvantage (whether other players unlocked star cards via grinding or paying for them), feels almost like some kind of pressure tactic to buy the game on release (at full price).

Having the option to pay for an advantage is far worse in my opinion than a game where everyone has to grind to unlock XYZ, atleast with a game where you have to grind the possible advantage/disadvantage gap isn't so large. Also it degrades the sense of achievement from unlocking something if you could've just purchased it.

I'd like to see more games completely balanced with no advantage whatsoever given to players who've been playing for ages or have paid for an advantage. I like to be able to win on my own merit and where skill is the only determining factor (ignoring latency, framerate ETC..)

Don't forget though some starcards also need a rank for them to be used. So even if a new player bought cards right away some of the higher rated cards require a rank.

BF1/2/3/4 worked well but Dice/EA have found another way to boost the coffers.

Well I only paid £30 so that’s £20 of loot crates straight away;)

Better hope I don’t run into Shankly as he’ll have £50 to spend on upgrades!

No need! I have the skillz :p I stopped opening loot creates in games after I got a knife in CSGO and made me break even.. Never again will I stump into that, it can become addictive.

Playing it on Playstation Pro hence the extra on the price. Nobody i know on the PC is getting it but around 8 people i know on Playstation are so was a no brainer for me. Enjoy those loot crates though :D:D:D, £30 is a good price as EA themselves want £55 on the PC.

It's a GameWorks title actually.

Stars wars battlefront 2? No it isn't lol

Very interested in seeing where you picked this information from?
This Dice title is actually nothing to do with either Nvidia or Amd.

No doubt both have worked with the developers though. Buts it's definitely not a sponsorship title otherwise it would be all over the games screen and site. A dead give away from a sponsor game.

NVidia use the way its ment to be played
Amd use gaming evolved

Yeah I preordered a cd key back In June. TBH I paid £80 for the first battlefront including the expansion packs and I got my money’s worth so I don’t mind paying a bit more on this one. I know the pricing model is getting a lot of criticism and I’m not going to defend it but it may well turn out cheaper for me than the first even if I splurge/cheat on loot boxes.

Haven’t got time to grind but got a few pennies left!
