Am I liable to pay a fine

Ignore. It will never go anywhere. I think if they tried to take it to court, the court would laugh in their faces.

Also I think they are required to give 10 minutes leeway now, so for 10 minutes parking they would have to allow at least 20 minutes before they can write a ticket.

you've made a complete hash of explaining this OP

the store is obviously Lidl and the fine is for people who use the car park and then don't buy anything from the store... since the carpark is for paying customers

the 10 minutes is simply a grace period requited under the IPC code of practice to allow someone to enter and then decide to leave the site - if you're a paying customer who is using the car park to enter the store and buy things then that 10 minutes doesn't apply to you

for people above naively saying "ignore it" - there is a reasonable chance they might not pursue it but that isn't guaranteed - you're better off simply proving that you were indeed a legitimate customer/bought something from the store by taking a picture of your receipt - people can be successfully pursued for payment of these private "fines", though the majority aren't pursued

Haha, nah honestly just ignore it. I've thrown away more than my fair share.

Unless it's a council ticket just bin it and carry on with life :)

I already appealled but did not send a copy of tge receipt. I suppose I can reappeal and submit the receipt.

The people that get chased and end up having to pay these are the ones that make contact with them and make a big thing of it. Do nothing and slip under the radar with the 1000s of others doing the same. They don't have the money or man power to chase everyone, or even close to it.

Especially ignore if the parking company isn't a member of the BPA. Since they can't even look up your details.

what on earth were you appealing based on - if you were a customer then a receipt would surely be the easiest way of showing that?

Oh dear, too late to ignore it now then. Call them and send the receipt and then be done with it.

Next time, if it's not from the council just ignore it.

Go to the store.

Show receipt and notice to a suitable customer service person, ask to speak to a manager if they do not escalate it themselves.

Explain that the parking company is wrongfully chasing you for misuse of the parking area. Proof being your receipt and the date/time on the letter.

one of the stupid debt collector tv programs had something like this, the dodgy firm actually took it to court and got the "useless" fine not so "useless" in law by winning a case against the guy they gave a ticket too plus costs....

just be wary and get it sorted asap, since you have your receipt, tell the shop what has happened etc

pretty sure the shop will not want negative publicity.

Able to find any details on this? I think it was more than 1 "parking ticket".

think it was more than one, my memory is totally screwed tbh massive side effect from my anti depressants, i forget what im watching half way through the adverts for what im watching lol

as far as i recall a guys mate's kept saying they cannot be enforced, think it was quite a few and they got enforced lol

not sure if sheriffs are coming on bbc or something like that.

Sorry, Ivreally don't want to name the store. I feel it is unfair.
All I can say is it's a four letter word with two L letters.

Why do people do this? You've refused to say it's Lidl and then gave a "clue" in which the only possible answer could be Lidl. You might as well have told us it begins with an "L" and ends with an "idl".

Good one, I never thought of that. However, could there be a safety issue involved; as I would have to hurry back to the car and my child could fall abd get hurt. Then I could be liable for child neglect!

As another video I seen the other day said - "Dont use your child like that, it's shameful"
