As title says, I was on the PC today and noticed that my screen had flickered but didn't put much thought into it.
Fast forward to me launching Rocket League and the frame rate was unplayable so I started checking a couple of things.
I checked MSI Afterburner and noticed that it didn't recognise my GPU. NVidia Control Panel has also disappeared.
Tried restarting the PC and still nothing and I noticed the the fans on the GPU would spin briefly on startup then just go off.
Also tried re-seating the card and PCIe cables to no avail, tried different GPU slot and still nothing.
It's still able to display somehow through DVI>VGA adapter/cable but just not recognised by the PC.

I assume that whenever my screen flickered, the GPU had some issues/died and now cannot be recognised by the PC.

Will try and get around to a friends house tomorrow to test the GPU just in case but everything I've done seems to point towards a dead GPU?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Very similar thing happened to me yesterday, i had to reflash my bioses because i was using customs and they wernt recognised by windows after the update. If your using stock bios try just downloading the latest drivers and then running DDU before you install them, hopefully it will get rid of the new driver causing the problems.

edit: nvm just notice Jony linked my thread above :)

I have tried DDU and everything works fine again until I restart the computer where it seems to uninstall the current drivers and installs the newest one automatically which breaks it.

Any ideas on how to stop Windows from doing this?

Forgot to mention that my card is the AMP version running AMP Extreme BIOS(not sure if this counts as custom?)

Looks like I'll need to find my stock bios and reflash :o
It'll be a job for tomorrow evening.
I'll get back to you guys if it's still having the same issue.

Nice glad you have a solution. We too found an old original backup bios and after flashing back it's all working and dual monitors work again.
