i7 8700K @ 5300MHz achieved, advice needed on temps

Ordered one of your binned chips is 5ghz a minimum garrentee?

What’s your batch number?I have high end water 1 triple and 1 double rad and with 1.335 I’m hitting 80c

No idea, like #6 sold from here (retail). Depends on rads (quality and thickness) and delid, I do have 4 60mm SR2s (480/360/240/240) with 17 fans and my tube is all 16mm copper so reasonably extreme you might say ;)

I run it 5.1 for the most part.

I suppose the delboy tactic would be to sell this CPU for something silly, buy another 8700k, and still have enough profit left to cover most of the cost of a new GPU :D

Once you can find a decent tool, delid for sure. I'm running 5GHz on the core, cache/ring and no AVX offset atm (but my chip will do 5.2 core) and my temps are in the high 60s in Realbench stress. BTW from one 8700k owning Scouse dweller to another, your sig is 4 lines too long mate. You're only allowed 4 (fairly short) lines of text in your signature, and sometimes when the 'Preview' shows it's OK your real sig on the forum will wrap onto an extra line, making your sig infraction worthy again. You need to chop it down lad.

Might just delete my Sig, and put in a link to an external webpage which will display my system specs. I'm a Java/Web developer and I run a Tomcat web server at home. I've got 3 domain names pointing to my server as well. Am I allowed have a link for my Sig instead?

PS: I'm from Halewood btw

Forgot to mention... when OC'ing your cache are u giving it a min speed limit? If not you should cos it will run cooler. My board allows me to set a min cache limit, and a max cache limit. So when @ idle your cache will idle down to your min limit so...

CPU/Cache min: 44
CPU/Cache max: 50

The cache speed will fluctuate between 4400mhz and 5000mhz depending on load.

I'm sure u understand lol.

I've just upped my max limit to 50 from 48, ran some quick benchmarks and no BSODs, seems completely stable. Cinebench came in at 1735.

Yes you can link in your sig, as long as it's not to your business or advertising (or an OcUK competitor).

Cool, did you find the real world gains as snappy as I did with the boosted cache? It was quick before, but web browsing and general stuff just feels that much more 'zingy' than before, though I've not tried to actually quantify it. I'll change the min cache speed down a bit, they're both on 50. My idle temps (which as you know aren't that important) are up to 30ish now (22ish before) but full Realbench loads are still only high 60s and occasionally low 70s so no real drama either way. I have Speedstep et al. enabled and the core does clock down to 800MHz when not in use, but I can't get the volts to adapt. They're just permanently at 1.35 even if I change manual volts to adaptive offset (still ending up at 1.35v). Doesn't seem to make any difference to temps anyway *shrug*. Born a Wool btw (Haydock) but married a cracking bird from the Croxteth/West Derby area. A wedding, two kids and ten years later I'm now a 'Wouser' as someone put it recently haha. :p

By evo4ever do you mean the car? We have a Motors section (I'm a petrol head and advanced driving tutor btw). Anyway, catch you later.
