I7 4770 worth buying?

1.Gigabyte SKT-AM3 78LMT-USB3 Motherboad
2.Thats partially correct, additional cooling (any 80+mm cooler on vrm or downward facing cpu cooler required)
would go even further and recommend to cool NB too, cause thats FX's "Achilles heel" and you would gain more going CPU/NB 2600+ with 4.4, than burning your board trying to reach 5GHz and having NB on stock freq. But typical Lamers don't think this way (addressing the bottleneck) they just going full shebang on cores. Not to mention that it is requires patience and time to fine tune, not just vcore+ , multiplier+ .
"And for what? To get about zero gain compared to an i7-4770/4790/K even at stock?" - Nice try, but geezer already had fx 8350 not the other way around and was going to spend 135£ on 4770 (not K) - for comparison I paid 155£ for my 1600 and it was months ago (does that 4770 still look like a good deal?)

3. Wakey wakey it is 20!7 and multithreading is a new black.
4. Can bet my house on , that after 10-20 min in bios will smash 4770 with FX 83xx in 9 out of 10 situations.
5. "Heresy - that contributor recons 4770 is worse than 8350".Think some ppl should be less sensitive and not get triggered so easily.

p.s: Must admit gents had some fun, but can we just leave off :D . Had enough defending FX line of cpus ( with pretty awful "corner cutting, money saving" decisions from Amd - 4 FPUs and "outside" memory controller just to name the few). Healthy dose of fanboy-ism is ok , but we often wander into territory of myths when the knowledge is lacking  .

Let me remind you:

I gave the advice of a new board on the 2nd reply  OP said itx boards are hard to find.

First search and I can see 55£ board on rainforest competitor.

So after boasting and acting the goat, you actually can't come up with an AM3 ITX board and name a micro-ATX board instead. Well done, genius.

"Geezer" indeed. What did you get for that 1600? That's right - DDR4. Which the OP mentioned was too expensive.

4. Can bet my house on , that after 10-20 min in bios will smash 4770 with FX 83xx in 9 out of 10 situations.

Oh of course. You've proven that you live up to your boasts. No reason to doubt you at all. Or that you'd give up your house. You're clearly not a man full of empty words.

OP plays games on his TV. At 1080p gaming, the i7-4770 is going to smash the FX-8350 even if you can get a decent overclock on it, and with two downward facing 80mm fans in a tight space case recirculating/spilling hot air, good luck with that.

Care to show us any 1080p game benchmarks in which 9 times out of 10, the FX-8350 does better than i7-4770?

5. "Heresy - that contributor recons 4770 is worse than 8350".Think some ppl should be less sensitive and not get triggered so easily.

Ironic, given that as the aggressor you had clearly been triggered enough already to jump into the thread and start throwing around insults.

p.s: Must admit gents had some fun, but can we just leave off :D .

If you're having fun, why stop? Couldn't be because you can dish it out but can't take it, could it? Even in the same post where you ask to leave off, you're still throwing insults around:

But typical Lamers

Poor little aggressor so quickly playing the victim. How cute. And how typical.

Cheez m8, now I can see how you got so many posts in here , you are Baiter :D.https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/members/donohue07.155652/

DONOHUE07 wanted smaller form factor, that board is.
The rest of your post is just pure salt and ad hominem, not responding to that.

All in all could understand advice swapping for a delided high clock capable K version of 4770, but defly not the stock one - it is a big no no no case is, cause: a) it costs money b) you can't play with it in bios :p.

From your first vid:

Not sure why you wanted to show me that the 4770K at stock was faster in GTA (old news). Notice how CPU limited the FX 8350 becomes, reflecting in only 77% GPU usage when the action heats up (hard to see in pic but GPU usage is 93% for the 4770 in that scene). Did you get confused or something?

The second video is noticeably lacking in any demonstration of what was going on or the system/s and frequency (except one in which frequency is mentioned in the picture) used, just snapshots of graphs with very little info. Hard pressed to find something even semi-decent? *Tosses so-called "benchmarking vid" into bin*

Moving on, third vid:

There is plainly a GPU bottleneck throughout, with the 7970. Except in Far Cry 3 CrossFire, which is now able to pump more frames as long as the CPU can handle them, and the FX 8350 falls flat on its face and reveals the considerable difference between the two @ 1080p when/if the GPU bottleneck is also removed.

Furthermore, last vid is a 3770K. When clocks are equal, 4770 is about 7% faster than 3770.
