I'm going to say it those are some awesome suggestions, particularly like the Vantage.

Driven one before, felt it had same issue, lack of traction and the balance was not as good as the F-type or Mustang.
Am going to Jaguar now to collect an F-type for the day.
Do you know someone there? I'd imagine they're reluctant to give unaccompanied test drives.
Gibbo is an older chap who will be turning up in a nearly new car, I'm sure they'll be fine with it.
If he were my age and rocked up in some old Corolla, probably not.
I'm sure they'd let you sit in it and make vroom vroom noises and move the wheel.

I can't even get a courtesy car from my own dealership, let alone an unaccompanied car for a day to have a jolly about in.

Unless one is supposed to walk in with sacks of cash, it's hard to flash a bank balance.
What is "talk the talk"? Case in point, "I'm interested in buying an F-Type, can I please borrow one for the day".... answer: "No, we don't offer that".

I test drove a 370z nismo for a whole 6 hrs before I bought one. It's not hard to get an extended test drive.
I also test drove a MX-5 RF for 6 hrs., a Lexus RC-F V8 for 24 hrs. Test drives are not difficult to obtain, but generally they will be able to sniff out a geninue buyer from a rally driving pilot.

Id of actually put a 370 nismo down, great pokey little fun cars, but probably not gibbos style, plus no paddles.

Gibbo has been in mine, he does like mine a lot, but I think he wants something more powerful.
