Travelling to Sheffield tomorrow, can anyone let me know what the surrounding areas are like please, mainly Rotherham and Tinsley.

Bad snow? Clear?

It is home though!

There's currently no snow. It snowed lightly earlier but didn't settle.

I'm currently sat at my desk and all the roads are clear in the centre (same can't be said about the surrounding area though esp. the Peak District)

Pretty much zero snow on the roads, a light dusting on the grass and roof tops.

More an issue for Rotherham I'd say, but close enough for someone from the wrong side of the Pennines.

When I moved to Sheffield my sister told me to never walk through Rotherham and if I have to only drive through it, made it sound like some kind of a massive ghetto.

I wouldn't say that, some nice areas around Rotherham. But the town centre is a shell of it's former self, not what it used to be like.

Same applies to part of Leeds (or certainly used to). I once visited a business there and all their ground floor windows were bricked up. I asked them in polite conversation if that was for security reasons due to lots of burglaries in the area? "No, its cause it got too costly to repair the glazing every time they got shot out" :eek:
